I've got 4 trades left and a complete side, but I can't see any real trade options because I've got no cash and all my bench are rookies who are playing, but worth flower all.

You need to think about ways to get Gaz in, a premo defender down to Kelly could be one avenue. The longer you leave it the more vulnerable you become. The perma-captain is back and he is a massive weapon in the run home.

I want Gaz badly, but the only real option I see at this point is upgrading Beams if his shoulder will sideline him. Other than that I can't really see a decent option.

Bob Murphy, Simpson, Tmac or Houli to Kelly or Eski is another option, but that isn't good is it?

Feel like I should hold trades til finals, then downgrade Steele to a rookie and upgrade Jelwood to Gaz?

Your call I guess, Steele to rookie should net about 200k in a few weeks, still might need another trade however. Watch Beams carefully this week, doesn't look right and could bleed cash if he's named.

Same boat as you RD 4 left and no Gaz think I will hold them for now if there are any injuries to common guns they become invaluable in the later rounds

Yep thinking the same shaker. I want to finish as high as possible overall as I can, but the reality is whether I finish in the top 100 or 1000 I still win bagels, where as my cash league should be the priority so holding trades makes sense. I'm happy to enter SC finals with 2 trades left, but think I'll hold this week, keeping an eye on Beams. Surely GAJ can't keep going 150+!

I think that's about all you guys can do with 4 or less trades left ...
what's wrong with Beamer?? didn't see the game - he's been good last 2-3 wks before this rd16 ...

Shoulder was hindering him a lot

Couldn't tackle by the end of it and missed the last 15 mins of the game

Yeah it's a tough choice I can get Gaz by unloading B Ellis and Krak but I know how many ranking spots I made up last year by having trades up my sleeve , and yeah you would think Gaz might slow down a bit but it is Gaz  :P

Torpedo10

I've got 11...

I just cracked the top 50k though.  :P :-\

Gaz slowing down? Famous last words right there.  Thats said, there's loads of teams that go for broke and keeping trades allows you to get past them in the final 1-2 rounds with all the 'general' that goes around

Nige

I've got 3 left, but my season's been on the decline since the first bye round and there doesn't seem to be any way to salvage it.

At this point I'm seriously just considering some sideways trades like Stef -> Goldy and somehow or some way getting Gaz.

Not sold on the Stef for Goldy trade, but trying to get Gaz seems reasonable Nige

Judd Magic

2 trades left and $4,000.

Problems - Smith at D6 and no Ablett. :(

If Beams shoulder is stuffed is it worth going YOLO and just trading Lonie > Knight and Beams > Ablett?

Have bench cover everywhere except ruck.

B - Hamling, Pearce
M - Steele, Lambert, Glenn
R - Read
F - Lonie, Saint Goddard

How about Downie, would sort out your lack of ruck cover? Swing Read to the forwards which would also give you a loophole for Goddard. You still have cover from Steele who can replace any of your mid/forwards.

Awesome idea mate.  8)

Tempted to go with the trades anyways even if Beams still does play.

Playing with a bung shoulder could get worse and then Beams could get booked in for end of season surgery in a week or 2 and I wont be able to afford Ablett.

What do you think?  :-\

And what does everyone else think?

I watched the Brissie game and he looks as crook as a dog, no strength in the shoulder and he was fended off like a feather weight. If I was a betting man I would say he will be put in cotton wool very soon. Even if he plays through the pain barrier I can see his scores taking a hit, 15 minutes on the bench here and there isn't ideal for SC scoring. Just my two cents but it's now or never for both Gaz & a decent back-up ruck.

7 trade club anyone?  ;)
