I think I've only made 5 legitimate injury trades

I've had other players get injured but I would've traded them anyway within a week or two so I don't really think they count

Yeh agree with that 100%, can not count rookies etc that you would of traded anyway wether you got top dollar or not can't count them.

Not sure you can throw all of them under the same blanket though. Sheed for example who broke his thumb, had scored very well for a few weeks in a row and was going to shoot up in price before his injury. I tried to hold him for as long as I could but it got to byes so I was forced to trade him. If I planned on having Cripps as m9 and he got injured for the season and I was forced to trade him to another premo, that would still be an injury trade.

Injury trades are trades that you are forced to do because the player is injured and it will negatively affect your team right? So it doesn't matter if it is a rookie out for 8 weeks (Lamb early) or a premo, both injuries forced your hand to trade.

If a premo was out for 1 week and you traded them, then I can see how that doesn't count. If a rookie was out for 1 week and you traded them, then that wouldn't count either. There is no way of knowing which rookies could become keepers throughout the year. I would have held cripps all year had I known he would be this good but his injury in round 2 with an unknown return date at the time scared me off.

You make fair points there mate but how many rookies do we actually keep for the whole season 2 possibly if they are very good and worth keeping as cover.
The one week out trades early in the year really shouldn't count agree, later in the year for finals i see as a forced trade as you may have no choice but to move them on to win a final.
All comes down to a personal view of it, for me LTI's to prems fair enough, rookies you can hold or move on depending wether you
need cover or to start generating more cash in that position.

Keeper rooks for me would of been Cripps in the mids and possibly Hogan up fwd, Lambert has thrown his hat in the ring with dpp lately, can't think of anyone down back off the top of my head surely there is one maybe Maynard but he's only just started playing really. As for the rest theres not to many you'd want to keep imo but i may well of forgotten a few though.

As said its personal opinion on the matter but if your counting rookies that may of not been tapped out you're stretching it a bit I think as you still had the option to keep them untill they were playing again in most cases.

True fair points Grazz. I guess it is all situational too, if you had Hodge and Lewis during their suspensions and a rookie was out for a week, you probably couldn't afford to hold.

Down back I would not have been surprised to see people keeping either Oxley or Saad as potentially keepers/cover. Heeney or DeGoey could have also come in handy in the mids this time of the year!

Of course Oxley and Saad shouldn't of missed those two my bad there, knew there had to be some i was missing.

Yep your spot on with the Lewis Hodge examples mate or similar ones, it is certainly situational . Im quite possibly being a little to precious about it all as circumstance dictates forced or unforced trade i except that 100%.

The experience wins it for mine, I'd take Jelwood, despite a slow start to the year.
Neale has certainly been great this year, but still lacks the consistency you need, you want all but guaranteed big scores at this time of year, and Joel would take the cake for that, having proven his ability over years prior.

Yep Jelwood for me to, 4 weeks ago i'd be saying the opposite but not now, he's back and flying. Not sure if it's thanks to Jimmy but who cares get on him.

Just realised im $4,000 short of jelwood is Neale the next best option?

fanTCfool

If you are just short of Jelwood, I'd be taking any of the following over Neale:

- Priddis
- Hodge
- Pendles
- Mundy
- Hannebery
- Steven

Just like Jelwood, these guys have more proven consistancy, especially in important games both Fantasy and Ladder wise.
