Bargain Bench Cover

So we're at that stage of the season when trades are running low, but I want to make sure I have decent bench cover just in case a premo goes down for a week or two, so I wanted to open up talks to see if anyone can suggest any bargain bench options we could look at bringing in?

At this stage, Jack Steele is the only player I have on my bench that I feel comfortable having to field if need be, so I want to see if there are any cheap options who have the JS and somewhat decent ability to score and are worth bringing in?

I currently have Dale and Lambert as fwd cover (Steele DPP in mids) which is shocking cover, and besides Steele in the mid Kavanagh and Glenn are useless too. No ruck cover and Pearce/Edwards down back too means my coverage all over is horrible, and I would like to look at the idea of using a trade or two on getting some decent depth in

Do you mean rookies? Daniel is the pick of the bunch where that's concerned.

Bartel is probably the best investment if you want a quality swingman. Link him with Steele and you will be set I would think. Should drop to 450k next week.

Don't think there is any. I have Dale and Lambert too. Read Dale had 24 possies and Kicked 4 goals in the magoos this week. Would like him to get a call up and do that in the 1s when it is needed but not holding my breath. Daniel looks the pick of fwd rookies... On the bubble this week and has probably taken Dale's spot.

In defence with the season ending injury to Gardiner and if Beasley is recalled look at him as he was looking good and he was the one to make way for Gardiner. Another to look at but a little more expensive is Harris Andrews think he will play every game now.

My pick in defence would be Malceski, in the mids James Kelly (should be 320k next week but being sub was slightly concerning) and in the forward line Boomer who should dip under 400k in 2 weeks (again a sub risk).

In saying all that I would be finding ways to get Bartel in the mix.

Mids: probably better getting a fallen premo here like lewis or a m/f like goddard or bontempelli to rotate with steele.

Shiel going down has flowered up my plans for cover

Was gonna have Smith at D7 with Hodge and Saad able to go to the mids via Maynard, Steele at M9 with any of Bont, Gray, Swan, Dusty able to move to the mids, Gawn for ruck cover and Jack Martin at F7.

Can't get Martin in now so hoping Knight can hold his spot and provide some sort of cover.

Martin is obviously very injury prone but take out his 2 sub affected scores and he is basically averaging 100 and could be a decent option if Goddard/Bartel are out of reach.

I wouldn't but if you want someone to cover with solid JS then these are the options..The only one I'd half consider is Batchelor. Will play every game bar injury..
