With Crisp and Ziebell losing DPP I definitely will be looking to trade some mids, but at this stage I don't think Griffen is one of them - I'd be doing the complete opposite of the aim of this game, buy low sell high!

One job Lobbe, just one job and couldn't perform the one time we really needed him :(. I blame Toronto and their Ryder >:(.
Trust me, Ryder's move to Port hasn't been good for us either!

Pendles has given me a pretty awkward loophole score, especially given the inconsistency of my other captain options

For now I think I'll leave it on Griffen but part of me wants to take the safe option and lock in Pendles' 96

trade him trade him I say
If anything this captain conundrum has confirmed how important Pendles is. The fact I have no other viable captaincy options means he has to stay

we will see, you might also want a forward line ;)

I have no true captain either. Well probably gold at this stage but it should be Jelwood or Sloane

I actually have loads of underpeforming/ injured guys

Sloane
Selwood
Birchall
Boak
Watson

scary thing is what if they all turn it on next year.

I didnt know we were including spuds.

I have guys like Hansen, Schoenemakers etc..

roo boys!

Yeah I have the same problem, unfortunately most of my guys were already pretty poor so couldn't really afford to underperform :P

In fact, just did some number crunching and although I would have made some mistakes (flower maths) the message is pretty clear

10 of my starting 15 have dropped their average this year, including my whole midfield which was supposed to be the powerhouse I built my side around

Highlights:

Jamie MacMillan +25.8
Sam Butler +16.2
Jack Crisp +6.7

Lowlights:

Paddy Ryder -21.3
James Kelly -15.4
Scott Pendlebury -7 (effectively -14)

Ricochet

Of our regulars

Stevens +23
Gaff +15
Nicholls +13
Masten +8
Coniglio +6

Roberton has not only bounced back (75 in 2013, 49 in 2014) but kept going, lifting his average by a lazy 40 points up to 89!

Sam Mitchell going from 91 back up to 108 has offset Gibbs (106 to 80)

Wilbur has gone from 114 to 93 to 73 in the past 3 seasons.

I've been very tempted to give the captaincy to Picken this week. After averaging 70 last year, he was playing as a defensive forward for the first 3 rounds for scores of 56, 51 and 64. Since then he has had an average of 113, with a low score of 89. Gun.

Def: Jasper Pittard, Andrejs Everitt, Nick Haynes, Shane Savage
Mid: Trent Cotchin (CC), Dom Tyson, Ed Curnow, Scott Selwood
Ruc: Mark Blicavs (CC)
Fwd: Tom Hawkins, Jeremy Cameron, Shaun Higgins, Sam Reid
Uti: Billy Longer, Darcy Lang

E: Cam O'Shea (D), Nick O'Brien (M), Cam McCarthy (F)

Resting: Josh P. Kennedy

Updated side. Toumpas was dropped so Shaun Higgins will be swung forward.

We don't want to loophole O'Shea though so Savage moves to defence and Lang comes on as a utility.

We're actually getting a bit light on for players - might not have been wise to rest JPK this week. Especially with Adams VC score for Buenos Aires likely to be loopholed.

Oh well, backing in Blitz and Cotchin to get the job done for us.

Wines, Broomhead and Grundy locked in on field but we'll loophole in Trav Varcoe's score down back and loophole Wines' score as our captain. Jaensch and Petracca both named but neither will play this weekend for loophole purposes. Not a bad start barring Broomy's sub-affected score!

After tossing up between Pendles and Griffen all day...I've gone with Cunners to lead the club for what I believe would be his first time?

Just have a feeling about him - loves Etihad too

On second thoughts, it's a bit cold for Gibbs tonight so he can prove his worth in the 2's this week.
