QuoteThe Adelaide Football Club has appointed Scott Camporeale as interim Senior Coach for the remainder of the season.

The Crows have also hired a Coaching Director with former West Coast premiership mentor John Worsfold taking on a full-time role in 2015. Camporeale, who has been at the Crows since 2011, served as Senior Assistant under Phil Walsh who sadly passed away on Friday.

The Club continues to offer counselling to its players, coaches and staff in the wake of the tragedy.

Crows Chief Executive Officer Andrew Fagan said Camporeale is a respected figure with an astute football brain.

“Nine months ago we set out on a journey with Phil Walsh at the helm,” Fagan said.

“We are all determined to continue pushing down that path, guided by his values of elite standards, hard work, attention to detail and a team-first attitude.

“Scott is well supported by David Teague, Darren Milburn and Matthew Clarke, and now John Worsfold adds further experience and insight.”

There was a need to add to the coaching panel following the shuffle of portfolios with Camporeale stepping up from overseeing the midfield.

Fagan approached Worsfold on Sunday.

“John is a premiership coach who already has an understanding of our football program given he was briefly here on Walshy’s invitation earlier this year,” he said.

“We are thrilled that he has agreed to join our Club for the remainder of this season.”

Good to see Camporeale will have the extra experienced support with Woosha joining

Probably the best outcome of the worst situation. Glad to have Woosha on board, would love him to be Senior Coach next year.

didn't read it proper - does it mean Woosha is starting his role now and effectively mentoring Campo now??

Can't underestimate what Woosha is doing for this club. He is effectively moving states to help us out when we need it most. Good luck to Campo as well, he will need all the support he can get.

Yes, for 5 years I think.
5 years with Woosha, looks like it has hit Kenny H hard too, wonder how Woosha is actually going with it all!

All I can ask is the boys go out and "Do it for Walshy" Hopefully that sparks em to have a red hot go at the Eagles. If even a few lads are 20% off mentally, it could get ugly. Campo and Woosha have a huge job this week and I dare say Campo isn't in the best of mind either :-\

I hope they don't do anything pre-game on the oval, players woud be struggling enough and don't need any added emotion before the bounce! I know that there wont be a club song but, if the crows can win, wouldn't it be a great release if they got to sing the song? ???

Grazz

The support for the Club has been massive. Grateful for Woosha coming over and supporting Campo.
Going to be a difficult few weeks, Eagles then Power, both clubs know Walshy very well. Port had him for 10 years and saw some strong relationships forged there in that time. Hard times.

Lock Campo into the head coaching role. He has been fantastic and would be great coach in the long-term. He's played for one of the most successive reigns in football (90's Carlton) and would have witnessed how to manage star players (they had more than their salary cap could handle). All jokes aside, I think the Crows should lock him in, really deserves to be more than an interim

So Campo gets the gig because he's worked in an organisation that likes to flaunt the salary cap rules. Worsfold should be the favourite to coach Essendon then, he's a qualified chemist after all.
