It's a sad time and a sad thing.

It's going to be a huge test for the AFL. I can't see Adelaide being in any shape to play Geelong Sunday

Can't see anyone playing this week

I believe the Crows will have to forfeit, that or they try to fit in the match at a later date, but that's not really fair on the Cats.

But before any decision is made, we need to know more detail about what happened.

Just awful. Thoughts to all concerned.

Can't see how details of his death will influence whether the game is played or not.  The game either goes ahead, which I hope it does to celebrate the life of Phil Walsh, or they forfeit and Cats get the 4 points

It's all irrelevant anyway, it's just a game after all, and this is a death that rocks the core of the club and everyone involved in the afl community

Holy... That's terrible news.

Prayers and thoughts to family, friends and the club.

Jroo

Just woke up to that news and I'm shocked. This is awful  :'(

Whatever the boys want to do play or not i'll support their stance. The importance of the points mean little here. Let the Geelong Football Club have the points that does seem the fairest outcome should the boys choose not to play. If we played i believe we would be well beaten considering the circumstances.

or for the sake of compassion, then the rest of the games are postponed by a week (kinda like a split round)
which then causes some scheduling issues (but does that really matter in the grand scheme of things?)

This is absolutely awful. RIP Phil. Prayers are with his wife who's in hospital and all other family members.

Not suggesting anything, but we don't know the details. We are only assuming that Phil Walsh was the victim, which is likely the case, but that would make a HUGE difference in a players psyche.

My thoughts go out to his family and the players and club.
Spare a thought for his wife, her son allegedly has killed her husband.
Just tragic.

Terrible, terrible news to wake up to on a Friday. Thoughts are with his friends and family, and the Adelaide Footy Club. RIP Phil.

I understand that this is a forum for players/trades for fantasy football . . But I think this is an occasion where a non trade post can be placed . .
As a fantasy football community we vent frustrations at players and coaches many times during the season . The passing of phil walls puts everything into perspective . .
Condolences to the Walsh family , friends and Adelaide football club . .
