Round will go ahead. Two premiership points for Crows & Cats, that game will be cancelled. AFL to confirm soon

If that's true, really think it is fairer for the Cats to get 4 points.

Dont think fairer comes into play in this situation - all clubs and player association have agreed on decision

With great sadness i write that Phil Walsh was murdered last night by his son allegedly.
I am speechless and words fail me, so very sad.
RIP Phil.
Just tragic …   :'(

But before any decision is made, we need to know more detail about what happened.

Can't see how details of his death will influence whether the game is played or not.  The game either goes ahead, which I hope it does to celebrate the life of Phil Walsh, or they forfeit and Cats get the 4 points

It's all irrelevant anyway, it's just a game after all, and this is a death that rocks the core of the club and everyone involved in the afl community
Just be too difficult for players and staff of both sides imo RD, so close to home and so close to the unfortunate event …   :(

I understand that this is a forum for players/trades for fantasy football . . But I think this is an occasion where a non trade post can be placed . .
As a fantasy football community we vent frustrations at players and coaches many times during the season . The passing of phil walls puts everything into perspective . .
Condolences to the Walsh family , friends and Adelaide football club . .
+1

It's going to be a huge test for the AFL. I can't see Adelaide being in any shape to play Geelong Sunday

I believe the Crows will have to forfeit, that or they try to fit in the match at a later date, but that's not really fair on the Cats.

But before any decision is made, we need to know more detail about what happened.

or for the sake of compassion, then the rest of the games are postponed by a week (kinda like a split round)
which then causes some scheduling issues (but does that really matter in the grand scheme of things?)

If I was Gill I would say no more games this round. Nobody gets any points this round including last nights game. The only problem with that though is there was things like injuries last night. So they'd need to be compensated somehow.
I’d say that’s why they couldn’t cancel the whole rd14 because Syd/PTA have already played …

To me as a Crows supporter i dont care what happens with SC this week. This is a game, someones passing is a real life tragedy.
I know what is more important to me.

R.I.P Walshy.
Yeah, it is an afterthought and the incident i think puts things in perspective ...
even then I think the right thing is that this rd14 is a ‘full bye’ for SC/DT/AF etc …

R.I.P.

A talented coach who significantly contributed to the success of 4 clubs on and off the field

I get where you're coming from, but it's not the Crows fault this happened so 2pts each is fairest.  How's it fair that a team loses their coach in an incredibly tragic way AND they lose 4 premiership points?

Man this is just terrible news, condolences to family and everyone close to Phil Walsh. Puts things in perspective, Fantasy football all of a sudden becomes less important.

Obviously not Adelaide's fault, but Geelong are basically the only team unable to play for the 4 points just on the bad luck of having to play Adelaide this horrible weekend. I'm totally for Adelaide deciding not to play, that's there right and the right decision, but in the end this 2 points could see the Cats miss (could see them get in also I realise).

in other news, the SANFL games involving AFL clubs have both been postponed until the split round later in the season

Yeah I see that point of view, it's a hard one.  Think they've just got to consider that this event is bigger than football and just do the empathetic thing and move on.  Will be interesting to see what happens if it does play a part in Cats or Crows missing finals...
