So, I'm struggling against Buenos Aires. If you include their HGA, they are a bit over 300 points ahead with 2 extra players and their captain played. I like to think Fyfe alone can make this up. Also, Buenos Aires have an OOP player coming their way, so I think I will get there. Likely to be eliminated from world idol though  :-\

Mexico City will get it done against the Sands.

Rio doing well, but not enough to knock over the Destroyers. Unfortunately.

This is an interesting match! Tokyo seem to have the advantage over Moscow. If only Captain Dahlhaus posted a decent score, then the result wouldn't be in doubt for the Samurai. An upset could be on the cards here!

Wow! New Delhi have come to play! If you include HGA, the Tigers are 87 points ahead, same amount of players played, but New Delhi have had their captain play, and Cape Town haven't. New Delhi are looking at a 140+ score here!

A good tussle, but the Saints should get it done.

Another good tussle, but Pacific have the advantage. London can still win tho.

PNL are just showing off. Will be too strong.

TORONTO ARE BACK! Captain Pendles was huge, but still, the Wolves have had a number of awful performers, so a 150+ score is very impressive.

Toga

We're about 70 points behind PNL at the moment with 3 players (including our captain) to play vs their 4. A big score from Neale could see us still in it but gonna be tough.

Cape Town are loopholing JPK's score aren't they? So their skipper has played, not sure if its been counted though... NDT for an upset?

Nah haven't counted it yet... Cape Town probably gonna win :(

Sorry New Delhi but this is going to get ugly fast.

Loopholed JPK's 143, got Blitz 110 and Cotchin is absolutely killing it.

Maybe a Champions League spot is not out of the question for us - need a big percentage boosting win though.
b!tch pls

roo boys!

Wouldn't call that too early, have basically been carried by 4 players so while it is nice to get back to the scores I know Toronto's capable of its still danger signs with 6 scores under 70  :-\

Hey guys, did you hear about that time St Kilda made Luke Dunstan the sub when Cairo only had two midfielders for the week?

Hellopplz

Jukes

Would be interesting to see the amount/% of times a WXV team has given up a score above a player's average for the season, if that makes sense. That'd be a great determinator of luck in this comp.

I bet I'd win it by a country mile :/

If you get a spare 10 years to figure out that stat purps I'd greatly appreciate it :P

ossie85

Ok, so this is the amount of times each team has played another team who scored greater than there average.

I.e. Moscow played Cairo in round 1, and Cairo scored more than they usually would = so that equals 1 time

The 2nd number is how many times the score you scored would have been enough to beat them if that team has scored its average. I.e. Cairo played New Delhi who scored more than average and lost, if New Delhi had played its average, Cairo would have won = so that equals one time

I think this is a good indicator of bad luck... though I probably explained it horribly. This round hasn't been counted.

London - 7, 3
Cairo - 7, 2
Rio de Janeiro - 7, 2
Beijing - 7, 0
Cape Town - 7, 0
New Delhi - 7, 0
Berlin - 6, 2
PNL - 6, 1
Seoul - 6, 0
Toronto - 5, 1
Dublin - 5, 0
Mexico City - 5, 0
New York - 5, 0
Pacific - 5, 0
Moscow - 4, 1
Buenos Aires - 4, 0
Christchuch - 4, 0
Tokyo - 4, 0

So six teams have played its opposition on a good day 7 times (from 11), while only 4 teams have faced there teams on a good day 4 times.

London can consider itself the most unlikely - they have lost 3 matches when there score would've been good enough to beat them if that team had an average day. Moscow, who thought they would be winning by a mile, has only played 4 above-average weeks for team, though did manage to lose one of them (Cairo). Speaking of Cairo, they have been unlucky, with those 2 losses coming against New Delhi and Buenos Aires.

Shall we flip it and measure good luck?

These are the number times each team has WON, but only because the other team was having a bad day (below average). I.e. you would have lost if that team had scored at its average or better.

1 - Beijing, Christchurch, London, Mexico City, Moscow, New York, Pacific, PNL, Seoul, Tokyo, Toronto
0 - Berlin, Buenos Aires, Cairo, Cape Town, Dublin, New Delhi, Rio de Janeiro

So... Moscow ain't that unlucky

Nige

Somewhat of a victim of circumstance.

Looks like I was right in saying we've been ridiculously unlucky.

I'll admit our team isn't great, but we're definitely not 1-10 bad.

Jukes

Great stuff, but I think you misunderstood - I meant higher than average for single players, i.e. if the other team only had Cripps, who scored 300, and Pendlebury, who scored 10, you'd be 1/2 for players scoring above their average.

7 of Tokyo's 8 players (excluding Cats and Crows, who gets their average, and sub-affected players) have scored over their average

Heppell 89x1.5 and Arma 84 at half-time is awesome tho :D

Purple 77

I think Moscow can thank Courtney Dempsey for his 4-quarter performance today for Tokyo.

All 2 of his points  :-\

Jukes

1377 + Pearce and Ballantyne, HGA of 49 included

I think I can thank my team performing well more :P
