well, at least it wasn't over in 2 days

Getting torn apart by Finn is a new low for this country. Need to somehow get a lead of 110 just to give us something to bowl at :-X

Hope Starc, Hazelwood and Lyon can stick around a bit to help Nevill build a lead to 100 - 150.

Just raising an issue here is it really time for Clarke to call it a day.  I think his captaincy is off and he has not made a decent score for quite a while. This was evident that Hazelwood ws not given overs after his initial 2 before lunch yesterday. He may have been one to keep the pressure on with Johnno and break the partnership that ultimately put Poms in box seat. If it been curtailed at 30 say we could be 80+ up atm. I know a case of ifs but just highlighting some of Clarkes puzzling decisions and field placings eg no mid on when after lunch when they started throwing the bat giving them 4 every time.

Do we persevere with Smith at three or bring in Shaun Marsh and play one of Marsh or Rogers at 3 with Smith at 4 and Clarke/Voges at 5.

The one thing though is we only need to draw the series to retain the Ashes but will need to win one more to get back on even keel.

Poms must be wondering Finn has not played tests recently?

Clearly there's only one person to blame for all this

27 wickets in two days, that's something I like

Too bad there'll only be 3 in total tomorrow :/

Yeah I think Clarke gets two more Tests to turn his batting around, if not then Smitty for Captain.
Voges out for S.marsh, moving Smith and Clarke down to 4 and 5 is what I would do.

Looks like Anderson could be in doubt for the 4th test, which would be pretty handy for the Aussies.

Does that mean there will be 13 today? :-\

Voges out SMarsh in makes sense. Anderson missing will hurt more than Harris out for Australia. Hopefully England are 2-1 though, this isn't a win yet whilst there is a recognized batsmen I will be nervous. A lead over 100, a couple of good balls to the top order like Johnson bowled yesterday morning, suddenly Australia can do it.

Johnson only has one 100, and that was in an innings defeat against South Africa. he was the only Aussie to score a century in that match. fair to say there was a bit of pressure on that

I think you've mistaken Johnno for Broad PB :P
Well, pressure is kinda off when you're swinging knowing the game is lost right? ;)

Ok maybe Johnson was the wrong example, but Rashid is a batsman!
This test is kinda what I mean. When it was needed, Stuart Broad dug in and played a batsman's innings. Johnson twice had the opportunity to do something similar and couldn't. I do remember Haddin/Johnson partnership Day 1 Brisbane though, Johnson was very good then.

I saw the wickets this morning, Steve Smith had a rare brain fade there :(

So, why didn't Nevill walk?

Jukes, no, just don't start that please.

I just heard an interesting thing on the radio. Jonathon Agnew (I think it is) said that the umpire would've been better off giving it out because Australia had reviews left and England didn't. I sit there thinking "No, he should give the decision that he thinks is correct." If he thinks there is doubt then not out, if England didn't use two reviews already (Obviously they weren't howlers because the umpire wasn't confirmed wrong) then they could used one on that.

So, why didn't Nevill walk?
Because sometimes you aren't sure whether you've got something on it or not.

Yep exactly, let's leave it there though. After I say that Broad didn't know he hit it either that time. :-X
