Just too bad that hack can't make the runs when it counts, rather than in a dead rubber or on flat pitches
Smith? His career got going from the same dead rubber two years ago but in the 13/14 Ashes he won the ashes by making the tons to win matches. Definitely has shown he has the ability to score when it's needed.

All players go through some troughs and I think this is one of them for Smithy and he will bounce back,  (How many ducks did Greg Chappell score when he was down).

Talks about people as if he's a cross between Glen McGrath and Donald Bradman...

Yeah no worries champ... Put the pads on

Tufnell came out and said he wouldnt have bowled first on the wicket. I is a green top isnt it??

Clearly Tufnell doesnt know what he is talking about

I think a few reports early in the day said you don't bowl first at the Oval. History kind of tends towards teams not winning by bowling first there as well (apparently).

It was very green a few days before the match not sure how much it changed since. I didn't watch much last night but obviously the Aussies finally worked out how to bat and did so patiently and successfully.

Was greenish, not as much as it was talked up to be. But still a lot greener than usual. Was good bounce and movement in the pitch early. Movement dropped off as the ball wore a bit, as per expected. But still good bowling conditions early and england just bowled too wide of off stump. Rogers and warner also batted a lot more defensive than usual and let a lot of balls go. We were on 15 runs after 12 overs which is unheard of for us. But is a good indication of how we should of batted early on in the innings in previous 2 matches on tracks that offered a bit more for the bowler..

Can not agree more with your summation Captain as it was spot on from my observations last night as well. the one thing I would add though is that edges which carried in the last 2 matches fell short last night. maybe an indication that ball was coming off the pitch a little slower.

Yeah that one to root wasn't too far off. He needed to be step forward. But may have something to do with softer hands from the batman and not trying to whip them through cover at full speed. Except that rogers one to cook... Rogers had a fair whack at that and got good carry to Alistair cook

Smith out :'(

OMG IT'S A NO-BALL! HAHAHAH!

Jay

They're batting well, but this is such a snoozefest..

Jim Maxwell and Geoffrey Boycott talking about bowling averages in different countries. Started with Johnson in England, then moved onto Warne in India, and Murali in Australia. Boycott then came up with this: "Well the chucking didn't help him on your pitches." Pretty funny at the time.

Murali averaged over 70 in Aus pretty sure is what was said. Wow.

2 calls overturned by DRS in 16 innings, that's pretty good umpiring

Could do with some help picking out the no balls better tho...
