Doesnt this take some of the risk/reward and mystery out of it? Would also advantage the better teams who might have 3 or 4 legitimate  captain options?

yeah u just keep your team each year and do drafts and trading like AFL clubs do at end of year etc is pretty fun most of us have multiple teams
