I'd say it's fair. I'd allow it considering we're already trying to find a way to make use of the still fairly large and decent pool of leftovers by potentially have a mid-season draft or something like that.

Disagree. You knew the risks when drafting Yarran and therefore you should deal with the consequences.

Im going to draft all the Garletts and Yarrans, their job security is too good to miss out on.

Jukes

I'll get the fixtures and round one thread sorted tomorrow lads

Jukes

Fixtures are all done - http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php?topic=108878.msg1839578#msg1839578

First 11 rounds are the usual play everybody else once, with fixtures reversed from last season and the order of the rounds mixed up - so last year's round 4 is this year's round 7, round 2 last year is round 10 this year, etc (if that makes sense) (those numbers aren't right as I can't remember the order but it's that principle, if that also makes sense).

Then Rounds 12 to 16 are randomised, with some teams having 2 home games and others 3 (which will be flipped for next season). The lucky teams with 3 random 2017 home games are Anaheim, Quito, Chicago, Wisconsin, Houston, and Colorado, with the rest having just the 2 for 2017.

Then round 17 will be rivalry round like last season, before finishing with the four weeks of finals, taking the league-customary round 23 off to avoid all the resting bs (hopefully).

- Letter to everybody -

So kb raised a great point in a pm - mid-season trade period. What do you all reckon about that? Go for a couple weeks (maybe during the multi-bye rounds) and can trade players and picks from our next draft (all trades even in amount of players/picks traded), coming with a limitation of not being able to trade your first round pick unless you receive another first round pick in this trade period.

Another thing that I've been considering is a mid-season draft/free-agency period - one thing I was thinking of is a mix of the two, with clubs in draft order from bottom to top and can elect to drop a player from their list and pick one up from the unlisted players collection, or just pass the opportunity up and keep your current list. Just something to help out our bottom clubs I guess. Below's a list of guys who could very well be taken in free agency.

Guys who played/are playing this week: Dan Butler, Nathan Brown, Zaine Cordy, Corr, Dale, Elton, Goldsack, Grimes, Hartigan, Dan Lloyd, Lonergan, McInnes, Melican, Minchington, O'Connor, Parsons, Pedersen, Roberts, Silvagni, Schade, Stratton, Simon White
Guys who have played this season: Houston, Miles, Mountford, Petrie, Tim Smith, Spencer

Also, any other ideas for the comp are welcome as always!

Can we have Pederson back thanks  :(

I will back both... I really need an effing rucks who is taller than 180cm...

I'm in favour of the first. Mid Season Trade Period over the Multi Bye Rounds with the stipulations suggested.

Personally not in favour of a Mid Season Draft / Free Agency.

I see your point, it ruins the end of year rookie draft because all the talent is taken in the mid-season

kilbluff1985

yeah u should be able to get depth where ever u need via trades

Nige

I absolute hate the idea of a mid-season trade period.
