Paul George been putting up crazy preseason stats  8)

I'm hoping he falls in my money league draft tomorrow...I've got the #1 pick in a snake draft, good for AD, but then I have to wait till picks 20 and 21.
Head to head or roto?

I've got a H2H draft tomorrow, my first ever. I'm nervous, no idea about strategies!

H2H, 10 teams, 16 players each, 10 active, weekly games limit of 38.  It's nerve racking, we've always done it over a few days on some forum platform, this year we're using the ESPN system with 90 seconds per pick! :o
Far out that's brutal. I have no idea how long we've got per-pick on ours actually.

Finding out your draft position an hour before the draft is also a nightmare.

Even though it's hectic its a lot of fun.  My tip is avoid injury prone guys and older players, I just cross off guys like Brook Lopez, Dwight, Rose, Noah etc as they give you more headaches than anything.

Have you guys actually thought about this line up though?

PG: Lillard/Bledsoe
SG: Matthews/Oladipo
SF: Durant/Gay
PF: Millsap/Favors
C: Jordan/Whiteside

Scoring AND defence on the 1st team and the 2nd team! Durant will be unstoppable this year!  8)

1 injury though to any team and it's downhill.
its a great team on paper

things i noticed in research pertaining to two of your players:

Matthews
Matthews (Achilles) will not be available at the start of training camp, ESPN Dallas reports.
Spin: Matthews is making his way back from a torn Achilles suffered in March of last season. He will be brought along gradually to insure he's 100 percent when he resumes playing
achilles are usually a 12 month injury also rumors that Dallas will tank this season scared me off him and Chandler Parsons

Whiteside
Whiteside's workload may not increase much from the 2014-15 season, when he logged 24 minutes per game, the Miami Herald reports. "You might see his minutes jump up when we're playing Andre Drummond or DeAndre Jordan. But if we're playing a team that likes to play small ball, you'll probably see his minutes around 20 or 25," said Heat assistant coach Dan Craig.
This guy could be a monster but as you know being a fantasy guy, 30 minutes per game at least is what is needed

So far my predictions are winning!  ;D  Whiteside killing it and Matthews with the breakout today playing over 30mins.  Just need Durant to get over his hammy and I'm tough to beat.  ;)

PG: Mike Conley / Kyle Lowry
SG: Goran Dragic / Danny Green
SF: Jimmy Butler / Harrison Barnes
PF: Anthony Davis / Al Horford
C: DeMarcus Cousins / Joakim Noah
Lowry, Butler, Horford and Cousins have been excellent so far for me. But guys like Conley, Joakim and even AD have been under-performing. Going to need to turn it around if I'm going to contend in this  :-\

C: Marc Gasol / Brook Lopez
PF: Kevin Love / Tim Duncan
SF: Paul George / Tobias Harris
SG: Khris Middleton / Kobe Bryant
PG: CP3 / Ty Lawson

Happy with it.
One regret I have is not picking Giannis over Tobias Harris with my last pick of the draft :'(

Teams pretty good except for the lacklustre SG position. Kobe stinkin'

PG's been huge. CP3 good as always. KLove averaging a double-double. Gasol consistent. Lopez new high in REB's. We'll see TD's value come playoff season.

Holz

Two in the top 5 of the MVP race (James 2, Leonard 5) pretty happy with that.

pretty annoyed I went Irving over George though.

Holz

Leonard has turned int a super star and is probably in top 3 of the comp along with teamate lebron james. One of the steals of the draft at 14, was soo suprsied when he lasted.

Irving working his way back into it and looked real good last night

howard abit of a flop but ibaka is the top rim protector in the league.

Dirk still being Dirk 17.3 points

For real?  Whiteside is averaging 6.45 blocks per 48mins to Ibaka's 3.62, you're delusional.  ;)

Jay

And the funny thing is, Rudy is a better rim protecter than both of them :P

Can't protect the rim when you're sitting on the bench in civi's for the majority of the season, Whiteside still wins.  ;D

there was a stat on the nba website in an article trying hard to find it. rated him the best dim protector i think whiteside was like 3 or 4 so thats decent

i think it was opponents offensive percentage when playing against them. there is a lot more then just blocking, ibaka makes it difficult for them to even attempt the post moves. Whiteside is good just not Ibaka good.

His nickname of Iblocka is one of my faves

Jay

FG% of opponent while player was within 5 feet of the basket:
Gobert - 37%
Ibaka - 40%
(Best two in the league)
Whiteside is down at 47.4%, which ranks 22nd in the league.

Granted, Ibaka has played 21 more games than Gobert so he has been more valuable so far this season.

Another note on Whiteside is that he kinda has the 2014/15 Deandre Jordan syndrome. Puts up crazy block and rebound stats but it doesn't translate to helping his team defensively. In the 1,040 minutes where Whiteside has been on the court, the Heat have a defensive rating which would rank 17th in the league.. Compare that to the minutes where he has been off the court, and the Heat actually have the 2nd best defense in the league.

yep thats it

Gobert didnt play enough games to qualify for it so Ibaka was the top in the league

still any means

got the two best wing defenders in Leonard and James then the best or second best interior defender. pretty happy with that defense.

not bad when i have James Leonard and now Irving on offense
