Not expecting the world, but glad I brought him for Bellcrappers to sit on my fwd bench and ruck cover.

Even if Gawn now sits out for a few weeks you've still won.

Gawn was attacking the ruck like a beast against Geelong. He's a no brainer sub for Hellchambers if you still have the lazy mope.

If you have the trades you can prob straight swap him for a 500k premo in 2 weeks.

True. More thinking of cover for Nic nat later on - I have a fear that the Eagles will rest him leading into the finals?...

There might be cheaper forward cover but none can cover the rucks quite like big Maxy Gawn

At 410k still cheap enough to take a punt on if your feeling it. Some good price rises still to come off the back of what he's done thus far.

With Bellcho spudding up my bench and done for 2 months I'm thinking Bellcho to Gawn next week is a no-brainer for F7/R3 cover... Just worried that this is textbook score chasing, the guy's never played a full season, seems quite injury prone and has erratic scoring at best. Looking at his unsubbed games in the last couple of years he looks like a 70-80 ish average player, but huge variation. 18-120  from 11 games in 2013, 41-118 from 6 games in 2014...

You can't really base your judgement on his past scoring. This is the first time he has actually been given a go as the no.1 ruck. Before that he was trialled as a forward and he just didn't have any consistency to his game and kept getting dropped. Similar to Stefan Martin in a way.

I did question Gawn's tap work and it is something he has struggled with over the years, but I saw that Max had 17 HOTA against Collingwood and I jumped on immediately.

Can't excuse his injury history, although hopefully he can get a clear run at it from here

If Tom Mitchell gets dropped, i'll bring in Gawn.
