Tank or trade?

Team shown below - i'm not overly worried about the win either way this week, and lean towards the less I do the better it will be for trades in the other bye rounds.  But I do have 21 trades up my sleeve and $200k so I'm thinking I should just use some to get on the bubble boys and make some cash. My idea is:

Rockliff > Boston (Bringing Rocky back in when he is named)
Mcintosh > Pearce, A (not sure on this one, jumping off McIntosh early but he's not likely to make too much more)

Thoughts?

You have 21 trades, turn those rookies into premiums! Cripps, Tarrant, Miller, Oxley, KMac, Saad all need to be moved on to premiums. Turn Miller -> Sloane in Round 12/13, Oxley -> Simpson next week. I'd even look towards doing Cripps -> Ward/JPK/Any other premium mid this week.

But then yes you need to generate that cash, so trading out Rockliff to Boston is a good idea, And so is KMac -> Pearce. But also use that 3rd trade to get a premium in this week. If it was me do Cripps -> Ward.

Your choice but you want to try and get all rookies off the field, and premiums on the field, work out how best to approach that. :)

Thanks, yeh i get your saying but with is being the first bye week i think getting in premos who are going to have a bye coming up is a waste.  I think this week get the cash, tank the round and then start getting in the keepers from next week.  So i think i'll go with your option 2, thank you  :)

That is complete rubbish IMO. Why is it a waste to bring in an extra premo when need to get to full premo as soon as possible

You have plenty of trades left and a lot of upgrades to make. I count only 2, maybe 3 keepers in defence, 5 in the mids ( 6 if you include Rocky, Griffen is not a keeper), 2 in the ruck and 5 up forward.

Trading a premo mid with the round 13 bye as PB suggested with Ward is a very good trade. 2 weeks of an extra premo score vs a rookie score helps your team both in ranking and league competitiveness

Just for interests sake what were you planning to do next week?

Thoughts were Saad and Miller to two premos that have bye this round, and then not sure on third right now.

You might be right, but I just don't like the thought of bringing someone in to then immediately have to try and cover them next week.  I am currently in 1400th which i find surprising based on my team, so i guess i need to do something if I want to continue to fight for overall, but already think i'm too far back for that.

I guess part of me now is just looking to finals, and im sitting pretty in my cash league so can afford to save trades but do know i'm slipping back in regards to a full team.  I might do the two cash trades and 1 premo?

I don't know if I would be turning Rocky into Boston just now, he's a hardass and could be back quicker than we think. I'm holding him. I would be looking at trading Miller, Cripps, and Salem, 2 down one up, and then next week flick Saad, Oxley and Tarrant, see what you can do with them then.

Miller, Cripps and Salem to Boston, Ward and Lids costs you about 100k, then next week Saad and Ox to Hodge and Hamling makes you back that 100k, not sure who you could get for Taz. Or pick someone else. But you go from 5 reasonably fatteend cows to 3 premiums and 2 new rooks, and essentially it's price neutral... Doesn't much save you this round though, but looking forward I think it's a win.

Why then bring in 2 rookies with the rd 12 bye? I don't get that logic.

You are never too far behind to push for the highest rank possible

I guess my logic there, altho not saying it's not flawed, is that I'll be getting potentially up to $100k off them this week, and even without a bye i would have wanted them in for future cash.  Now you've confused my decision totally, but thank you  :)
