Ha ha why would anybody be wasting trades to get players in this week that won't play in the next 2 rounds , so much for not caring about the byes I planned and are are copping one doughnut for McKenzie but will use my trades in the next rounds

Very true mate.  The only trades people should be making now are downgrades for cash.  Bringing in premos this week is basically robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Please.... I find this "you cannot trade any premos in this week" ridiculous and dumb.

If your bye structure is fine why not make an upgrade or 2 this week - as long as you still move to finish your team and have 18 + each week on field, which I should be able to have.

You still have to maximise points and bring your team to full premium.

If your logic is correct why trade round 12 and 13 rookies in this week?  They have a bye in the next week or 2.

I see your point but I think of it like this:

Rookie r11: 70
Premo r12: 100
Premo r13:100:
I get 3 scores, when most arent fielding more than 18-20 each week.

You get this
Premo r11:100
Premo r12:0
Premo r13: 100

Im effectively a man up. If I do this a few times through the byes (which I am) Im playing 20 odd (best 18) each week.
All this by simply waiting a week for players.  We're both improving our teams but
Im getting more chances to score without extra premos on the pine who I cant trade out.

Re: bringing in rookies, im doing it for cash, never really relying heavily on their scores should they score badly. You can afford a few iffy ones if you are playing 20 guys each week. Im going vberg to boston anyway; vberg is out for a month and wont net me any scores!

Im not saying you cant bring in premos, it just makes sense to wait a week when you dont have to sit 'em on the bench.
If you have to upgrade to avoid a donut then go for it.
A lot will have different Strategies and they are all viable and make sense and will be up to each individual.  Just remember everyone may have different ideas.
This week I combined both my iobjectives downgrade for cash, upgrade where needed and keep byes in focus.
So Rationale for me this week
Vandenberg who is injured to Boston for cash, (No real problem with my byes Round 13 to Round 12 player)
Bellchambers to Pearce for cash and both with Round 12 bye.  Bellchambers not named so I gain a playing rookie and no donuts.
Clark to Ziebell - Clark not named so with cash gained used to upgrade to Round 13 Prem and gain for 2 weeks. (Both had Round 13 bye so no effect on my byes structures) Only regret here is I hope I did not err in tossing the coin the wrong way to choose Ziebell over Wingard after last night.  ;)

Personally I wanted to bring in an extra round 13 bye premium this week because I'd rather 3 players on my mid bench this week and 3 in round 13, than 4 and just 2.

I actually traded this week i went CEY>Sloane they were both missing this week but i saw it as if somehow everything went up the creek and i had players getting injured everywhere and had to worry about that next week l'd probably miss getting Sloane

Fair point but if I bring a premo or 2 each week, have 18-20 each week (which I should have) it would be 100, 100, 100 vs 70,100,100.

Stretch or Neal-bullen?

Mat0369

Stretch is on the bubble so that is why I grabbed him. Worst case at least you should get a price rise

blue

I normally never downgrade to someone who is not on the bubble, but I think I'm going to take the risk on ANB, I just think he may score more than stretch
