I thought he had reasonable arguments backing most of the advice. I didn't agree with all of it, but it should have made people think more carefully about the reasons for their choices.

I didn't check his blog, but he sure worked hard keeing up with all the "rate my" posts here. That sort of effort shouldn't be ignored.
