We come to Round 10 and have a Monday night game this week.

Will Team Captains rise to the occasion this week  after a couple of disappointing efforts in last 2 weeks.

Round 10 (AFL Round 10 Friday June 5th to Monday June 8th)

Hebden Bridge Hedgehogs v Blackpool Bunnies @ Todmodern Sports Centre
Hedgehogs have been a little disappointing this year.  Touted as a top 8 team this year they have fallen off the pace dramatically. Despite this should be too strong for the Bunnies. Bunnies have been hit hard by injuries but should regain some players this week and may cause an upset but will need a big improvement from Captain J P Kennedy.

Liverpool Rams v Grope Lane Giants @ Goodison Park
Giants broke through for their first win of the season but hard to see them beating the high flying Rams. Giants recorded their highest score of the season last week but was still well short of Rams score. Rams will not want to take the Giants for granted as they have been steadily improving and any drop off in Rams intensity may see the Giants with the upset of the season.

Oxford Owls v Huddersfield Hawks @ Incheon Stadium
Clash of the Birds.  Hawks have really been bearing their talons in recent weeks whereas the owls seem t be slumbering on the perch suffering 2 defeats in recent weeks after flying high. Owls had excuses though with late outs and injuries intervening and if they get close to their best side on the park may get over the Hawks. Hawks should be far too strong with Dayne Beams now producing his best form as Captain and should have capable cover for Jobe Watson.

Bradford Badgers v Staines Steins @ Badger Village
Steins have been the team hardest hit by injuries this year,  They only had 14 players available to be picked from last week and with not many returning will find it hard to get over the Badgers.  Badgers though have been up and down and would not want to have a real down week this week as they need a % boost which may be required if they are to challenge for top 4.

Leeds Leeches v Swansea Breakers @ Elland Road Stadium
Breakers currently sit 2nd on the ladder and have surprised quite a few teams this year. There is some doubt over Breakers captain Jordan Lewis taking the field this week which may encourage the Leeches. Like the Owls Leeches have suffered a couple of unexpected defeats and will be looking to bounce back. If the Leeches can curb the rampaging Josh J Kennedy up forward they may upset the Breakers.

Birmingham Dragons v Winchester Werewolves @ St Andrews Stadium
Werewolves are riding high on top of the table and hard to see the Dragons getting over them this week. Only chance for the Dragons is to keep Werewolves Captain Nat Fyfe to a low score which few teams this year have been able to do. Dragons will fight to the end but this may not be enough to cause the upset.

Manchester Magic v Crosby Cruisers @  Old Trafford
Interesting clash this one. A team on the rise v a team that is on the decline. Cruisers got over the Leeches last week whereas the Magic fell to to the Hurricanes. Little separates these 2 teams with points scored. Magic will be desparate for a win to keep its flickering hopes of a top 8 finish alive and Cruisers would want a win to stay in the hunt for Top 8 positions. On current form favour Cruisers but if Magic get their Captains choice correct they may get the win.

Nottingham Hoods v Hastings Hurricanes @ Trent Bridge
This is my match of the round 4th v 5th only separated by percentage. Hoods were mauled by the werewolves last week and will be looking to bounce back against the Hurricanes. Think this match could be decided by the performances of Captains.  Both teams scoring similarly and Captains efforts for both in recent weeks have been disappointing hence why I say if a Captain stands up may be the difference. As winner will cement a place in the Top 4 really expect this match to be a real dog fit and unable to nominate a winner here.

Teams to be locked at bounce Fremantle Richmond Game on Friday

Note also as we have a game on Monday deadline for updating scores will be Tuesday midday

Best of luck to all and let the banter begin

Should probably name some captains, ay. Barlow C, Boyd VC, Cotch EVC.

Memphistopheles

Not only will we have not many returning but Mitch Clark is set to miss as well.

Praying Daniel Robinson gets another run, Litherland holds his spot after being a late in and Jack Redden is back. At least Yeo should return.

Otherwise we're looking at another week of less than 15 players.

We will look to trade for some more depth in the off-season ... Or mid-season trade period hey Ringo  ;) ;) ;) :P :P

Yeh disappointing but we've missed our starters Scooter, Greenwood, JThomas, De Boer, Mullett, Hutchings for most of the season so far

Will be stronger from here on

Cannot wait for the Superstar Greenwood to return!

That is why you have 4 emergencies named each week to cover late outs.

But they wouldn't be late outs? I only have Fasolo in the Pies/Dees game so I don't really mind, but for people who have a few of them and don't get to see the 22 man squads seems a little unfair I guess. I dunno what you can do though, depending on what time they're released. Maybe allow an extra emg or something?

You get to see the 25 man squad before Friday lockout though and you'd have a fair idea who the likely candidates are to be culled for the final 22.

Yeah true. Like I said, this isn't really for me, so if others don't care then that's fine.

Has been the same rule every year when we have had Monday games.  One of the reasons we went to 4 emergencies along with sub rule. Risk you take when naming teams.  Do not think we need to make it any easier than what it is now.
