Harry Taylor
Yeh don't mind that call

really, a reasonably old swingman

I would rather someone like Hogan over him.
Your underrating Taylor as a defender mate.
and Bulldogs have Boyd, they could certainly do with Harry's experience in defence

tbagrocks

Jack the spudgun Gunston. just to play him in the two's like the flog he is ;)

Alex rance would be handy. Dangerfield and fyfe and pendles up there also.

That's just in terms of what would help Eagles most.

Oh man could you imagine a backline with McKenzie on the key forward and Rance and Gov free to run amok  :P

Rance and Mckenzie to take the 2 keys and McGovern to roam back and then swing forward every now and then to take opposition by surprise!

he is good but I would take Rance over him. Probably rate him a better defender at the moment and is younger,.

Fyfe by a mile. Has everything on his side.

Goldy wouldn't be in my top 10. Been proven time and time again that having a dominant ruckman doesn't equate to much.
Eg. Sandi winning the hit outs to advantage record against Richmond.. Has a midfield of Fyfe, Neale, Mundy Barlow, Hill etc and they still lose to a side well below them.
I know Goldy does more around the ground than most rucks but if I was going after a ruck I'd take NicNat. Younger, more athletic, more upside.

Massive if though. Hard to go past Hogan for me.

Nic Nat been abit of a flop recently. if your going to take anyone it would be Blicavs but more as just a beast midfielder.

Injuries have played a large part in that though. If he can get his body right I think he will be the clear dominant ruckman of the AFL in the next couple of years.

So, he's injury prone and therefore more of a risk? :P

his game is built on athletecism as well so thats always a worry and he probably wont last as long as the other rucks. pretty disrespectful to Goldy who was almost AA twice already and is locked to get it this year. Im not sure a fully fit Nic Nat would be able to catch up to him. There is more to being a ruck than just being able to jump.

NicNat was AA in his 3rd or 4th season. Since then has suffered injury set backs. We're being reminded the last 6 weeks or so what he's capable of when fully fit. Goldy better right now but NicNat younger and a heap of upside makes him more appealing to me.
Goldy my next choice ruckman given that Sandi is on the wrong side of 30

I think the Jack Riewoldt that we see this year would be a nice addition to the Port side. Especially as Schulz might not go on after this year.

He's won 2 colemans but I actually think this is his best season so far. Would have to be in AA contention

Anyone who doesnt think nicnat is the best ruckman in the comp needs to watch the eagles v adelaide game... Sam jacobs is a great ruckman and wow he made him look veryyyyyyy average.

Depends what you want in a ruckman. When it comes to tap work alone Sandilands is the one I would want, he still monsters everyone, Naitanui close second. But when you combine the other factors that ruckmen need to have now (Running ability, contested marking fwd or back, goal kicking) I would put Naitanui and Goldstein ahead of Sandilands. Stefan Martin is also very underrated I feel. I think from those 4 you can't really go wrong.
