Just remember it doesn't include bench players - unless E and covering a donut.

18 - on field.

What do you consider a good score average to be over the byes? ie: 1600 +

Ringo

In previous years this is where a lot of coaches made up ground as they had structured their teams so they had x number of prems playing each week.
To average 1600 over the byes you would need the 18 players averaging 90 each week Based on this 1600 may be the upper end of average 1500 average would be a more realistic par average for the byes.

Deadly6

Plus captain, therefore 19 x 85 = 1600. You may average 1600 if all goes well, but difficult to get each of the 3 weeks

Ok, so 1600 sound's like a pretty good average over the byes, how many prems are you aiming to have on the field during each round - 10+?

PICCOLLO

Too many. Lol.

At least its your best 18. If you have 21, your best fielded 18 count.
Just make sure yout lines are evenly spread; you may have 18 players playing but if you cant fit them on the park, they dont count.

So how are people traveling with their bye preparations?

I will have the following if my planned trades work.

Rnd 11 - 20 playing
Rnd 12 -19 playing
Rnd 13 -19 playing and 2 emergencies.

What's your expected setup?

1600 definitely isn't good enough. I think you'll find the average to be about 17-1800 for the top 10k or so. If you're interested, these are my scores from last year

There goes the 1600 average goal, you were pumping out some big scores over the byes & made up good ground with your overall rank. I can't remember but was it the best 18 players last year also?

Cheers, Big Mac. I was looking for that thread myself. Looks like the better teams average almost 2000 over the byes. Good team management and smart/aggressive trading during the bye rounds are vital. Play it smart and you can improve your ranking by quite a lot.

I traded heavily through bye rounds last season and averaged 1890.333 over the 3 rounds. From memory there were plenty scoring more than me but I was gaining places.

In 2013 I averaged 1871 over the 3 bye rounds without giving the slightest crap about which player had what bye. I figured get the best player for the position and leave it to chance. The worst round of the 3 scored 1543.

Worrying about 'bye structure' netted me 19 points x 3. Woopey.

But with regard to hoping for 1600 average... That is so bloody low it's not funny.
