That's what I'm thinking. If I trade out Salem and Lonie starts playing next week there might not be suitable upgrades or downgrades and he will bleed cash. At least I can loophole Salem until a suitable trade pops up.

Fremantle will monitor the availability of David Mundy for Saturday’s clash with North Melbourne at Domain Stadium after the midfielder sustained a significant head cut in last week’s win over the Western Bulldogs.

But defender Luke McPharlin has been cleared to return after missing the past two games with calf soreness.

Mundy, 29, was seen training at Fremantle Oval this morning with a large bandage on his head and a black eye.

He warmed up with the rest of the squad before breaking away into a smaller group on lighter duties, a practice not unusual for the club’s veterans.

Mundy is expected to be named when the squad for Saturday’s game is released this afternoon, but coach Ross Lyon said they would keep an eye on the injury.

“It was a big head clash, but to borrow the phrase of the immortal John Kennedy, injuries above the shoulders don’t count,” Lyon said.

“Cuts don’t worry him too much.

“We’ll always have a bit of TLC wrapped around them but they’re excited to be playing at the minute and pretty keen to keep their spot.

“We’ll make an informed decision but we’re certainly planning for him to play.”
