Looking to upgrade Hogan and have cut it down to these two in terms of players I want to bring into my team.. What are your thoughts?

Smith averaged 93 last year, Burgoyne 94
9 tons and 14 under v 10 tons and 14 under

Both have started slowish with 2 good games, so it is very similiar

Smith $414k v Burgoyne $440k

What are your thoughts lads? It not, is there anyone else around the $400-450k price in defence that I'm missing??

OR bring in Selwood at $557k but I may be short on cash

kfewster

Hibberd ($417,400) and Walker ($397,700) would be the other two I'd look at.

Both are down on form abit at the moment.

Smith with drop to below 400k after this week too

I'd wait a week before bringing in a defender in your case I think

Rocky comes in next week, downgrade and then upgrade to Selwood the following week so I want to move on one of these blokes right now

Smith is my choice for now, Saints and GWS in the next two and should get good mid time with Sloane out

Would love to wait a week but I'm not going early on a rookie so I'm going early on one of these defenders..

Means I'll have Smith, Shaw, Gibson, Lumumba, Newnes, Ox fielded this week with Cripps, Miller, VDB and Tarrant my only rookies (with Ox)

Stevie J vs T Mitchell

Depends what position, or who you're looking to trade out? I'm really struggling with this call myself. Stevie J would end up being my M9 but is a bargain for what he can do.

Titchell could be a top 6 fwd if he doesn't get dropped, but that's a huge if. And his 2 big scores were against dogs and dees, has Geelong and Hawks now which could be a roadblock, before Carlton/Suns. But if he doesn't do well the next couple of games he could get dropped that quickly. My only thought is that if I get him and he gets dropped he will still be pretty much a straight swap for Buddy or Bartel in a few so it's perhaps a worthy risk.

For me the players I'll most likely be trading in the next 2 weeks are Hogan, Heeney, Newton and Vandenberg. I'd like to turn them into McKenzie, Rocky, Jelwood and another prem. Hogan has the highest BE, and I don't have a DPP mid I can move forward, if I did I'd be trading Hogan to SJ. But Hogan to Titch and Heeney to McKenzie should give me easily enough cash to get Rocky and Jelwood for Newton and VDB. So when I factor that in I think Titchell is worth the risk, there's no other forward contenders that I can be confident will still allow me to get Rocky and Jelwood. So Titch may cost me a trade if he gets dropped, but not getting Titch will still cost me that trade to make another downgrade to get Rockwood, and I'd have to get one of them a week later...

Goddard + Smith or Blicasz + Smith?
First option means trading out Hogan and Sloane, second is Mcintosh and Sloane. Im leaning towards option 1 as next week I can go Mcintosh to Lever, and Vandenberg to Rockliff.

Better chance of being a premium forward, Betts or Motlop? ???
