Now I know there will be a big movement towards our favourite DT conundrum Titchell this week. He's the gun we all want to be great but the fact is he's yet to be so....

I wont be jumping on as he would need to be a season long keeper and it remains clear to me Longmire wants something from him that he's not yet giving (no idea what really).

That said I'm looking at viable M/F options to bring into my mids this week with $$ no drama, already have Gray, Swan, Dustbin, Dahl, Bont so they're out.

My favoured options are:

Motlop - good value, 100ppg, nice bye, odd soft score
Goddard - bit pricey, gun, worried about the bombers now, role risk at times
D.Smith - fairly priced, 100ppg, nice bye, no tag risk

So my questions...
Do you see it differently with Titch?
AND
Which of my 3 options would you go for?

I guess with the limited trades someone who has potential job security problems presents a bit of a risk. So I guess the real question is, is the risk worth the reward? For mine, I think it is. If what he has produced in the last two games is representative of what he will produce each game and is not an anomaly, I think he cements himself in that side.

I personally will be bringing in TMitchell this week, I feel that he represents too much value to walk away from. At worst even if later on in the season, his job security becomes more questionable I might be able to slot him in at F7.

With regards to your question about Smith, Motlop or Goddard for a mid eligible forward I think Smith would be ruled out right away as he is forward only status. Out of Motlop and Goddard, I think Goddard represents the safer option. He is also almost 90k more costly however. If you can see cash generation not being a huge problem I would go with Goddard however it also depends a lot on your bye structure and if Motlop suits a lot better as a result of having the round 13 bye go with him.

It's a conundrum that's for sure. Some will jump on (or already have) and others will stay clear.

I think his spot in the team is highly dependant on the opponent. For instance the next couple of weeks against Geelong and Hawthorn it will be tough in the trenches so IMO he's almost certain to stay in the team. However the Rd.11 game for instance on a fast Eithad track against a counter-attacking team like North Melbourne he may find himself on the outer.

My thinking is worst case scenario he plays the next 3-4 games and gets dropped but by then he should be over 500k so it's just a straight swap to another premium so I guess the questions becomes are you happy to use another trade on him later on if need be?

As for your other 3 options, Smith is not much cheaper than Goddard and less reliable so I would count him out (at his current price at least). Motlop cheaper and has the Rd.13 bye which could be helpful. I think both of those two are solid options.

If named this week you have to have a serious look at Mitchell based on value alone.

With limited trades in RDT I'm staying clear of him, would be going Goddard as the safe option or possibly Motlop.

is anyone considering an undervalued brent harvey/jack zeibell? bellchambers to one of these 2 is a sub 100k jump.

Personally haven't considered JZ and not a terrible suggestions at all. not keen on Harvey.

I've decided on Motlop, enough exposed form to suggest a 100pt avg is reasonable with 3 x 110+ and only ~$30k more than Titchell. For my money a better option, don't really buy the "value-pick" argument for Titchell at this point of the year, a relatively low price is only a fringe benefit. I certainly wouldn't trade him in if I thought there was a realistic chance of needing a further trade down the line as suggested above. Just go straight to Goddard rather than that.
