Great deal for the Hawks, Shroeder has proven he is ready be the top PG in Atlanta

They get a staunch defender to compliment their slick scoring front court

I don't hate it for the 76's either, veteran leadership and ball handling will get them better looks

Could also pave the way to pick Brandon Ingram...

but when Ingram/Simmons, Okafor, Embiid, Saric are in their prime this guy will be retired.

has been declining since his all star year.

i would rather punt on Dunn then him.

still dont understand why they dont draft Simmons and just stick him at PG.

Simmons, Smith, ?????, Saric, Embiid/Okafor

I reckon they actually target a SF.
It's time to start winning, if the PG of the future is getting 20 minutes behind Teague who is passing on intricacies of the craft to him and improving the quality of shots other players it's a big win for the team, in 2 years Teague has done his job, the youth are ready to ascend to bigger things with a solid foundation in place.
Most teams have some veteran leadership and or veteran ball handling
But is it worth giving up a potential defensive powerhouse for a few years of veteran leadership? I'm not totally against it, I like Teague, but I definitely think they're getting the worst end of the deal. Unfortunately by having so many big men they've backed themselves into a corner now with Embiid and Saric coming back. They need to make a deal this offseason and I think other teams realise that. Sticky situation.

Also if this goes to game 7 (as I'm predicting), am I the only one who thinks it should be on a neutral court? How good would game seven be at MSG! Instead, the Warriors get a huge advantage if it goes that far. I understand it with seeding throughout the conferences but the ultimate game of the season should be at the Mecca of basketball. Just an idea stemming from AFL but one that has a lot of merit IMO.

Iggy with another good performance in a finals game.
The Warriors bench was amazing

76ers need to get some shooters in the side if they plan on drafting Simmons. He has the playmaking ability but his shooting is off. If they can't put shooters in the side around him while he develops then its gonna be a long season for Simmons and the 76ers

Hmmmm...

Has to sting considering in the 4th Klay and Steph were both under 10 points while 6 others were in double digits #wonthappenagain

Tbh i don't think Noel is an elite defender, his post game is poor, his shot is broke and free throws a joke ;D

He gets defensive stats but fundamentally he wont be great, on a good team he is a role player at best

Last 10 games LeBron has lost Game 1, LeBron is 10-0 in Game 2s

That trade is the epitome of stupid. You can move the young guys on but you need to get decent value in return, Teague for Noel the 6'ers are getting bent over in a situation they don't need to be. If BC makes the trade it's truly ishing on what Hinkie was trying to do.

Teague is out of contract, he probably won't commit to Philly and ask for a max at the end of next year. So you're basically trading Nerlans for what could be a one year rental. Also for the record, PG's generally have their best season at 26. Further looking at the contract situation I read this and it sums it up perfectly.

'Bismack Biyombo is going go get $15 million a year this summer; Noel is still on his rookie deal for one more year, and the Sixers will be able sign him to an Early Bird extension this summer for a starting salary of no more than 25 percent of the 2017-18 salary cap. Teague, who is on a cheap contract now, will be a free agent in one year. His max salary will be 30 percent of the 2017-18 salary cap. He will also likely put up huge box score numbers in 2016-17 as the only fully functional guard on the team (no offense to Robert Covington or Ish Smith), and given the price the Sixers will have paid for him, it'd be a disaster for Philly to let him walk. Teague will be mighty expensive next summer if the Sixers trade for him this summer.'

If you draft Simmons he'll basically be running the point anyway. You want players to compliment him not a ball dominant point guard.

Still, even with playing out of position, Noel has accumulated 251 steals and 242 blocks so far in his two-year career. Here’s an extensive list of players who accumulated at least 250 steals and 240 blocks in the first two seasons of their NBA careers, dating back to the 1973-74 season, when steals and blocks were first recorded:

David Robinson

Nerlens Noel

That is all.

Again, not opposed to trading him, but not for Jeff Teague

Jay

Nerlens Noel isn't some transformational defender like Philly fans make him out to be, but he's sure as heck worth more than Jeff Teague!

That being said, I would take him on the Celtics in a heartbeat. If they draft Chriss:
IT, Smart, Jae, Chriss, Noel (Assuming any trade would involve AB). So much defence.
