This series win should put most doubt to rest about how much of an all time great team we are watching unfold. Huge respect to the Thunder for running out another historic individual season in the Spurs and pushing this team all the way to Game 7. They might be the best Conference Final loser of all time too

what is an all time great team?

if you include 2011-2014 Heat,  2013-2014 Spurs, 2008-2010 lakers, 2000-2005 lakers, 2003-2007 Spurs and 2008-2010 Celtics as all time great teams from 2000 onwards then yes they have entered that realm is they win this year.

If your talking 90s Bulls, 80s Lakers 60s Celtics then not even close.
Not saying they are there, those teams won 3+ titles - this team has only won one. In the salary cap era it's unlikely we see teams dominate with that amount of titles ever again.

thats fine if thats the standard for all time greats then if the warriors win they join the likes of the 11-14 heat, 13-14 spurs etc..

back to back is a fair argument they join that.

If they can win say 4-5 out of 7 years then they can start entering another conversation.
What they have over all those 21st century teams is the 73 wins, that's why they're being held to a different standard. Plus they have players who are changing how NBA basketball is played and transcending just the on court excellence. How I see it that's a big part of being an all time great team

They also tried to get the best record not resting any players, hasn't bitten them yet, but was close with OKC.  A lot of those other teams with great records prior to GSW rested players on a constant basis, I should know, flowered my fantasy teams up at the time!  ::)

Up until the playoffs started i didnt think the Cavs were a true threat to any WC team

Since the playoffs began they have gone up another level in chemistry and efficiency, they are a legitimate contender

thats a regular season though, really should mean nothing its the playoffs that are important.

If we are going by those standards then Lebron is the greatest of all time not Jordan. even big Jordan fans might agree that James is a better talent but just couldn't win the finals. 6 straight finals cements that.

here is a interesting question. Warriors are being called an all time great team, if the Cavs beat them are they then an all time great team?

Jay

Cavs are not an all-time great team, and won't beat the Warriors. Golden State just overcame the toughest matchup they could face. Beating Cleveland will feel like a breeze compared!

we will see.

realistically if they do win they have 1 ring and one runnerup, just like golden state. so apart from the regualr season golden state has had they are the same.

it will not be a breeze not when the cavs have the best player on the planet on their side.

I still think GSW will win but this series is going to be as hard

Warriors are slightly off and the Cavs are at their peak, il be shocked if it is decided in under 6 games

If the regular season was as easy as some of you guys are implying those Heat and Lakers (With Pau) teams should have won 70+ games every year. Kobe and LeBron never rested in their primes plus they played more minutes

the heat rested wade alot, he was never really healthy.

The greats dont even care about the regular season.

look at the spurs they just turn up win most games and then start their season in the playoffs and they finished 67-15

Their 73 regular season only counts if they win the championship. If not then their 2015 asterix season is ahead of their 2016 season.

Interesting debate surfacing with the new cover of 2k17 being announced.

Who's better/who would you rather have, Kawhi or Paul George?

Fair enough man. To me 73 wins is pretty damn good either way. Spurs haven't really proved resting works besides winning 1 title.
