thats uncanny i was about to post Skip just said the dumbest thing ever.

I have had enough of this hype. Warriors best team of this era, Nobody has a shot against warriors this is boring now its Curry greatest season ever.

Talk about living in the moment.

You could put an argument that he is having one of the best offensive seasons ever ( even though this is not true) but best season ever.

Do people realise there is a thing called defense? How good a defender is Steph?

I can bring up soo many better seasons.

my best is shaq 99-00 I know not the best D ( 3 blocks) but 29.7 PPG 13.6 RPG 3.8 APG 3 BPG 57.4% FG

Wilt had crazy numbers but its hard to compare.

Lebron James has seasons with almost as good offense but much much better defense.

I will end this with Jordan. Since we are talking best of all time.

Jordan had 5-6 seasons easy better then Steph. Steph is having a amazing offensive season, I would say Jordan was better on offense though. The difference Jordan v Steph on D is a joke. Jordan has a DPOY and is an 1st team defender (like lebron)

Its getting to the point of no longer being a joke its getting sad now.

widely renowned as being a largely offensive stat. His PER is why you can put a case for best offensive year ever.

Jordan has a PER marginally lower but far far superior D.

James has a 31.67 seasons with again better D.

the number is always weighted to advantage 3 pointers which is the reason why Steph is number 1.

each two point field goal made is worth about 1.65 points. A three point field goal made is worth 2.65 points. A missed field goal, though, costs a team 0.72 points. Given these values, with a bit of math we can show that a player will break even on his two point field goal attempts if he hits on 30.4% of these shots. On three pointers the break-even point is 21.4%. If a player exceeds these thresholds, and virtually every NBA player does so with respect to two-point shots, the more he shoots the higher his value in PERs. So a player can be an inefficient scorer and simply inflate his value by taking a large number of shots."

Curry isnt an ineffeicent scorer but taking and making alot of 3s is why his PER is soo high.

so given the two flaws of the PER is doenst really show D properly and is advantaging 3 pointers plays into stephs hands.

Im not going to even bother comparing Jordan to Curry.

But James v Curry i can pick 08/09 as both guys are basically the same age.

James PER 31.67 which is 4th best of all time (soon to be 5th best)

Lebron got the number 1 seed with basically nobody.  Curry has 4-5 players better then Lebrons best support.

JJ been waived by Brooklyn.  Who's he gonna go to?  Cavs/OKC/Spurs/Clips/Warriors?

crosssing my fingers for Spurs Cavs. Clips makes the most sense.

All true, but OKC are the ones that desperately need a SG.

I was so disappointed this morning when I woke up and saw an email from my cousin who I grew up with during the 90's watching and playing bball, he put MJ and Curry in the same sentence...  :'(  It's spreading like the plague.

Im a Lebron fan who has made crazy calls that Lebron is as talented. I know this is a very big call and a wrong call but comeone curry has done nothing.

Agreed...while Curry puts up another 40+pt game with 9 x 3pters and a 4th quarter to go... ::)

Brilliant offensive game.

I should be saying how fantastic he is going but now i need to compare him to Jordan. what did he do on defense and why was his +/- only 11 when they won by 16. 5 To wasnt great.

I have seen better.

plumdog millionaire

I respect your argument and probably lean on that side of the narrative Holz but surely you get that you can't just point out one game and be like 'I've seen better'

this is one of if not his best games of his season/ever.

the numbers are crazy 74% FG for 51 points with 10/15 3 pointers. I have seen better was in regards to even Steph at his best (which I believe this is) isnt the best ever.

thats the benchmark he now has.

its a shame as if there wasnt all this hype I would be saying what a night. I love stats and this game is a thing of beauty but now i ask is it the best ever and sadly no its not even close.

I have no issue with Steph he is clearly the best player in the world at this stage (as much as it hurts to say a Lebron fan). He is on another level at this stage. This talk of best ever season on the best ever team though gets to me.

There is soo much expectations basically he needs to win a ring without going to any 7 game series. drop 30 points a night with 5+ 3 pointers. Basically he also has to win MVP next year.

I wonder if all the people saying how good he is think he will be the best next year. I wouldn't sleep on AD and Durrant and this all time stuff. He needs to peform at this level for another 5 years before we start talking Mount Rushmore.

plumdog millionaire

So from 28 feet to 50 feet, Steph is 35-of-52 this season. Thats 67%. 2.02 points per possession. 101% true shooting

Just for more comparison, you're better off letting him take open lay ups, or pass to any open player under the basket. Heck you're better off sending him to the line every possession.

He's on track for the most effective and efficient offensive season ever

You like the signing? The pieces on that team just don't seem to fit imo.
