On a humbler note, this is what Whiteside said when asked if he wanted more minutes...

"Man, I was at the YMCA two years ago.  I'm happy."

Played 38mins today, and dominated...this guy is getting paid!

Don't want to ruin the parade but he was in the D-League 2 years ago - not the YMCA -- 1 year after being cut by Sacramento.  He was drafted by the Kings, held on the roster for 2 years and mainly played D-League (20 odd games for the Kings)

YMCA is basically saying he was playing ball in a gym...which is basically what the D-League is.

the interview i seen with him was after his first decent game for The Heat, said he was literally drinking in a carpark out the front of a seven eleven in his hometown one month ago, that was about mid season just gone

Very true. Which is why I won't be surprised if Miami move him. Can't pay a guy a max deal, when they already have Bosh who's best position is centre too. Spolestra hasn't been playing Whiteside down the stretch because there isn't enough floor spacing for Dragic/Wade to operate when Bosh + Whiteside play together. Miami are -3.1 points per 100 possessions when that combination share the court, which is the 2nd worst out of all their 2-man combinations to have played over 250 minutes. Compare that to when they go smaller with the Bosh and Winslow combination, which is a +11.6 points per 100 possessions.

You might be right Holz, they are playing on an insanely high level. Have been better than Golden State for a few weeks now imo, can't wait to see the playoff matchup. Not often do you have not one but two teams who are having historically great regular seasons.

Leonard is #2 MVP candidate I think.. Has become an elite offensive player, not to mention he's the reigning DPOY!

Whiteside matched up against Drummond tonight, 16pts, 16rebs and 4blks to Drummonds 11pts, 12rebs and 2blks.  Drummond was only 4/12 FG's awhilst Whiteside was 7/13 FG's.  Tough matchup, but Whiteside is continually proving himself.
