He is top 5, what do you expect him to say.

3.2 3s per game on 43.7%

85.3% FT
19.3 points
i expected him not to be delusional, my bad
Mate what do you think he's gonna say, 'Yeah I'm probably the third best SG in the league, tops'
how about "theres a lot of great guys at SG, im happy to be considered amongst them"

not "im the best we're 26-1" dude you averaged 16ppg through the first 20 of those wins #jussayin

There really aren't that many 'great' guys and Klay knows that

And after that? He feels as if he's in form so he has he right to say it. One thing you always hear about the best pro athletes is that they genuinely think they're the one of best, it's part of the mindset they need to have

Objectively, Klay probably isn't the best SG in the league but I think from his perspective there's nothing wrong with saying he is

put me between Steph n Draymond's foundation and il average 16 :-X

he is good, but the best, sheeeesh ::)

I'm leaning more towards Riot on this one. There's no way Klay should even be in the same sentence as Harden or Butler, he should know that he still has lots of improving to do if he wants to get to that level. A rich man's Kyle Korver doesn't cut it.

plumdog millionaire

Not saying he is at that level, but just that I don't think it is delusional for him to say it, as it is what a lot of good players would say and in the NBA it's important to have a high level of confidence even if it's inflated a bit.

not sure I agree.

Klay clearly the best shooter and he plays defense (unlike harden)

he isnt as good as those two but its not crazy talk. Its not Harrison Barnes saying we are 26-1 im the best SF in the league.

jvalles69

Agreed about Klay, he'd be another Danny Green level player without Curry on the team.  Butler and Harden are going to dominate no matter what, I fail to see Klay doing the same thing on "any" team, thats the difference.

Speaking of AD, he only played 20mins today with flu like symptoms and put up 27pts with 9/13 FG's, 9/9 FT, 6rebs and 4blks.  That is pure dominance in limited time, it was against Denver but they would've thrown 4-5 bigs at him wfor no avail.  He missed the entire 2nd and 3rd quarters vomiting in the locker room, need a drip and fluids to get back on the court.

RiOtChEsS

believing it and saying it publicly are two different things, the other two are shouldering the load of "the guy" for their teams

saying your the best at something when you aren't the best player on your team is ??? in fact on form he is the 3rd best player in GS

if Steph went down the team would win about 60% of their games

decent effort, he should get the flu more often.

And you know what, if he had've played a full game I would've won my fantasy matchup, he would've helped me take rebs, orebs, pts and ftm cats singlehandedly, but I lost my first matchup for the year cos he sat those 2 quarters...and I ain't even angry.  To boot, my appt had Tyreke and Jrue, they loss of AD added up for them to go off tonight. :(

On a humbler note, this is what Whiteside said when asked if he wanted more minutes...

"Man, I was at the YMCA two years ago.  I'm happy."

Played 38mins today, and dominated...this guy is getting paid!

I think one of my favourite players to watch of all-time, Manu Ginobili, is the 6th man of the year so far. Per 36 minutes, he's averaging 19.3 points @ 46%, 5.5 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.9 steals, with a PER of 20.5.

Pretty great for a 38 year old!
People were writing him off all of last season too. So good to see  8)

Haha, well said!

Still not as bad as Monta Ellis declaring the same thing a few years ago.

thats it big call time.

Western Conference is over

Spurs (Leonard) just held Paul George to 7 points on 1-14 FG.

Nobody is beating that.

Don't want to ruin the parade but he was in the D-League 2 years ago - not the YMCA -- 1 year after being cut by Sacramento.  He was drafted by the Kings, held on the roster for 2 years and mainly played D-League (20 odd games for the Kings)
