wow hope they can pull it off. Spurs v Clippers 2.0 would be amazing.
i dont like it, it opens a pandoras box. DJ needs to honor the verbal agreement or it derails Dallas' free agency, who could they get now?

:o :o
Commish needs to adjust the rules imo, teams/players could exploit it. Im not saying this is the case here but like all rules in sports, teams find a way to exploit the loopholes.

Hypothetical:
Player X played for Team A but agrees with Team B verbally who play in the same division/conference, when signing day comes Player X reneges on Team B to stay with Team A crushing Team B's FA period.

100% agree, it stopped Dallas from being able to sign another big man and they lost Tyson Chandler because of it. Deandre will be booed in every venue he visits if he goes back on the deal.

The Kings just did that. And also gave two future lottery picks which will probably end up being top 5. It is just because Boston doesn't have Hinkie and his jedi mind tricks.

Go back and watch Stauskas play from last season.  He gets BULLIED on defence.

Looking at the sum of the trades we moved a top 8 pick (#7), a salary dump and we received, Koufos, Bellinelli, Rondo - who are all upgrades on everyone we got rid of.

Geez!  Things have escalated with Blake posting pics of Doc and the team locked in DJ's house until he sign with the Clips?!?  Report is saying that DJ is going to resign with the Clippers?!?  :o  Commish needs to step in here for sure!

QuoteMarc Stein said on Twitter late Wednesday that Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban is telling the team to expect DeAndre Jordan to re-sign with the Clippers.
In one of the craziest days in free-agency history, it appears that Jordan will indeed re-sign with the Clippers soon, as he's not even taking calls from the Mavericks. This lays to waste much of the Mavericks' plans made nine days ago, and it reconfigures the rest of the league's moves, not too mention Cuban's mental state after this change of heart. Offseason verbal commitments probably will not mean as much going forward, and now we just need Bruce Springsteen to write (another) song about it. Expect Jordan to end up back with the Clippers, after all but shunning them for the Mavericks. We even changed our depth charts - again - and it sounds like Jordan could sign with the Clips in a couple hours, at 12:01 ET.

Unbelievable

Apperently players have had second thoughts in the past, but not sure if anyone has renegged on an agreement?
