Thought you might have mentioned re-signing Wade.. :o
i dont think anyone is taking him leaving seriously, i dont think anyone will pay him more than us, if he goes it frees up a heap of cap :-X

I love him. But I'm waiting for the "injures his left knee while bowling" headline :P he just screams Bynum..

He is a completely different beast to Bynum. He is the Jesse Hogan of the NBA

We all think that, until they get injured bowling :P

w0w Deng stayed, Wade opted out, he thinks he has the power but would we consider doing the dirty on him and not offering him a contract? would we low ball the 16m he could have made?

Don't think it's fair at all. $3m is negligible in the scheme of things! Read a good article on it a couple of days back saying why they should've been payed a lot more, I'll try dig it up.

I feel like a lot of FA signings depend on the reputation of the team - and Miami sure would lose a lot of it by not paying Wade. :-X

agreed there needs to be something hefty in the way of a first round pick with possibility of worse if it happened again

from what i understand Pat has made him a boat load of cash outside of basketball, that should bring kudos enough from other players looking at our organisation.
why he has opted out of a 16m year to seek a deal that is 3 years and at best gonna net him 16m a year makes me think he feels he will breakdown this coming season and wont be able to get that sort of money next year, he has missed 48 games in 2 seasons, on that sort of output he is the highest paid player in the NBA, why he cant go to Riley and say hey how about some more cash filtered to me by other means, my 130m ive made from basketball has me feeling a little broke ::) something is going on here im leaning towards he doesnt have confidence in his body

My Chumps

I know it's about sentimentality and all that, but Wade doesn't even fit the Heat's lineup  :-X I'd take the 16m cap space in a heartbeat.

Think of it as a Paul Pierce situation; he leaves, but still a lot of respect from both sides and still a Celtic/Heat player at heart.

Al Farouq Aminu 4-year 30 million dollar deal with Portland. I like him but :o

That is huge money for someone who hasn't done anything. The potential is surely there and might finally get the chance at Portland with Aldridge, Afflalo, Batum and Matthews all but gone.

Other signings:
Anthony Davis - 5 years $145 million and worth every penny
Kawhi Leonard - 5 years at $90 million, Spurs got a steal here
Thad Young - 4 years at $50 million

NOP would be absolutely stoked to lock away AD! Big pay rise for him 8)

And I think this is just the start of it.. With the salary cap projected to take a huge rise next year with the new TV deal kicking in, deals that seem like an overpay now will actually be pretty good value in the future.
