-------

Kings vice president of basketball operations Vlade Divac has pursued a possible deal that would include a bevvy of assets, including the Lakers' No. 2 pick in Thursday's NBA draft, rookies Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson and other draft assets, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Sacramento also would want to unload the remainder of forward Carl Landry's two years, $13.5 million contract, league sources said.

Minimally, the Lakers have no intention of including Randle in a deal for Cousins, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Randle, a power forward, was the seventh overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft and missed most of his rookie season after leg surgery. The Lakers are reluctant to part with Clarkson too, sources said.

days of our lives shower ???

I hope the Lakers are dumb enough to not realise that any combination of their picks or players is an absolute steal for the most talented big man in the league, who is still young, and on a great contract.

And then while they balk, the Celts come in with a package of Marcus Smart, Kelly Olynyk, Tyler Zeller, Brandon Bass' expiring, Pick 16, and Brooklyn's Unprotected 2018 first round pick. Boom, done deal.

If we had to trade Cousins, I dont mind that deal.

Get a top 5 pick in Julius Randle (crueled by a broken leg in debut game).
Get an all-rookie 1st team guard in Jordan Clarkson.
Get the #2 pick and pick up Okafor/Towns (Most likely Okafor).
Dump a bad contract in Landry (owed ~14m over 2 years)

Means we would have pick #2 (Okafor/Towns) and #6, a young PF & PG.  Thats not a bad return ---- IF THERE WAS NO CHOICE BUT TO TRADE.

It's crazy, looking around the internets at thoughts on the trade and the majority of Lakers fans don't want this trade to happen???  DMC is a proven beast and prob the #1 C in the league.  Randle and Okafor are two young guns who could sink or swim, but real quality big men don't come along very often. I'd take DMC every day of the week.

I agree - I personally want DMC to stay at Sacramento - but like I said, if we have to trade, this isnt a bad one

Way better than the deal offered by Jayman from Boston.... WAY BETTER

Jay

What I don't understand, is why this is even a topic of conversation. Who are the idiots in the Kings organisation that think trading DMC is a good idea? He hasn't demanded a trade, so you keep him. Simple.

Yeah if you got those guys in return and DMC is leaving regardless then this is a good deal.  Whoever gets DMC needs to build a quality team around him and they are an instant contender.  After AD, he's prob the only other C that you'd anchor a team around for a title run.  He needs a good SG/SF/PG who is a genuine leader who he can build a good relationship with.  That's what DMC is missing, a guy that can lead him and make him better.

From what I am reading... the answer is Coach Karl apparently doesnt want him.

Hasn't Karl got a history of dumping players he doesn't see eye to eye with?

Yes he does, which is probably why DMC tweeted the "snake in the grass" emoji's yesterday

Sure. But where's the logic? I can't see any reason to trade DMC. Might be disrespecting Karl, he's a good coach, but this will be the dumbest move since the Harden trade if the Kings go through with this.

valkorum

Absolutely will be a dumb move.  I want him to stay

valkorum

I would be happy if we kept DMC and fired Coach Karl (if he is the one requesting DMC to be traded).

I think I also heard today that he tweeted that he "absolutely" wants to stay in Sacramento?!?
