Far better deal for Detroit though. Remember when everyone thought Illyasove was really handy?

Yeah, he had a really good stretch at one point and then nada.

Bucks trade Ersan Ilyasove for Detroit's Caron Butler.

Seems like just stocking up on depth in a position where they have a free agent (Milwaukee with Kris Middleton and Detroit with Monroe).
Half.  Ilyasova is definitely there because Monroe is all but gone.  But Bucks did it to posture for free agency (BroLo, Chandler targets).

Middleton is a RFA and Bucks will match anything probably.
You're right, hadn't really looked at it in too much detail at the time.

The whole Kris Middleton getting the max thing shows how far analytics have evolved in the NBA. Would never have even been considered a max player 5-10 years ago. He's good, and fits their system perfectly of lengthy wing players on the perimeter.

MCW / Giannis / Middleton / Parker / Lopez or Chandler is certainly an intriguing lineup. Think they'd struggle to score with Chandler in their though - but then again BroLo doesn't help their offense when he's injured.

Was it just me who heard the Pistons are targeting Danny Green? Can't imagine the Spurs not re-signing him but a Jackson / Green / Hezonja / Ilyasova / Drummond lineup would be sweeeet 8)

Yeah we'll probably see a heap of max contracts this offseason since the cap rise will change things so dramatically in 16-17.

Can't wait to see how Mario does in the NBA and I think Detroit would be a great fit for them.

As for the Bucks, it looks like they're becoming the new Bulls!  All about grit, especially if the get Chandler.

Yep that's confirmed now, Riot.

Lance ranked dead last in win shares.. But is on $9M a year. Clipps didn't give up much to get him, but it's still a risk.

could be a championship move. hawes didnt do much at all and they desperately needed offence from their SF.

just got to keep griffin paul and jordan togehter and im really liking this team.

Clips Cavs series next year.

with the wiggle room they had and what they gave up it aint to bad as he can be a good player...

but what does Lance think? if his confidence is low he is terrible, personally i dont see him able to fit in and this is why.

Lance's success came as a ball handler in Indiana where George Hill was the PG, a low volume combo guard.
He couldnt coexist in Charlotte with Kemba Walker who is a higher volume combo guard.
In LA CP3 is the primary general, secondarily running thru BG32 and his 5 APG (2015), then Austin Rivers running the 2nd unit.
Lance isnt a spot up shooter he is a create a shot guy, without an injury to CP3 i dont think the move will bare much fruit.

He might be very useful though if they plan on conserving CP3 more throughout the regular season.  Giving his more breaks throughout games so he doesn't burn out prior to finals.  Lance can be an x-factor for sure, just needs to get his head right and be used correctly.

agree pretty nice guy coming off the bench. with paul and doc mentoring him if anyone is going to get him right than its those two. They need to try something as they are very very close to the ring just always needed an extra piece. maybe this is it.

Maybe they think they can trade Crawford for a '3 and D' wing player, then have Lance fill Crawford's role off the bench?

Crawford must be cooked then (foot?) cos id prefer him over Lance, personality and player wise

this is why i dont advocate drafting injured players

Noel turned out to be a good pick, looks like the picks of that draft.

just imagine if cavs went him and kept wiggins

Irving Wiggins LBJ TT Mozgov/Noel with Shumpert Jr off the bench.

Yeah I dunno man, they don't exactly have any assets to trade, especially since the Celts have their pick this year. Maybe trading Crawford is the only way to sure up that SF spot? Alternatively, maybe he's dumped Barnes because he knows The Truth will sign? I don't care what his birth certificate says, he'd be a huge get for them. Still go it 8)

Meh, they aren't going to contend for a few years anyway. Let him heal, he is still doing shooting work and doing stuff with the coaches. He needs to work on dietary stuff because he ballooned out a bit with the injury which would result in a slower recovery. The kid has serious skills so it is just a matter of time which Philly have. The core is likely to be Russell, Covington, Saric, Embiid, Noel with guys like Grant, Robinson, Thomson and Wroten who will be replaced by even more first round picks and free agents.

and this

It is not a new injury, they are just reducing his workload due to it healing a bit slower then they thought it would
