With the Draft approaching on the 25th June Thursday Night in the US (Friday Morning here). Who will the pick 1 be and where will he go to?

http://espn.go.com/nba/lottery2015/mockdraft

Minnesota has a 25% chance of getting the first pick, 19.9% for New York, 15.6 % Philadelphia and 11.9% Lakers with the rest being a less than 10% chance.

If Minnesota gets pick 1 we all know what that means. Wiggins, Bennett and now ?. The last 3 number 1 picks in the draft consecutively.

http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft/results/top100/_/year/2015

Currently NBA ESPN Insider Analysis (Chad Ford) has Karl-Anthony Towns as the first pick. For those who are no familiar with him. He played for the Kentucky wildcats team that went 38-1 loosing in the Elite 4 match up against Wisconsin. Towns at the Centre or Power Forward at times averaged 21 minutes a game, 6 rebounds, 10 points and 2.3 blocks per game. Towns being a freshmen at College meaning he only played one year the the university of Kentucky before selecting to move himself onto the NBA.

However, the man on everyone's lips the whole way through the college season was Jahlil Okafor one of the stand out players in College history and got his team over the line in the national championship game. Okafor averaged 30 out of 40 minutes a game, averaging 17.3 points per game and 8 and a half rebounds, on both ends of the floor Okafor could get it done time after time. If Minnesota get hold of pick one Jahlil Okafor is the man I believe they will select. Okafor will add immediate impact to the team and teaming with Wiggins and Bennett (where ever he fits in) is more likely to improve the line up than Towns who did not play huge amount of minutes in College.

With the 2 players mentioned above being the main contenders to be the top pick, a player nobody knows much about is Emmanuel Mudiay from Congo playing in the China league is predicted to go third. The College season was filled with height with 9 of the 13 best prospects prior to the year either played PF or Centre. Meaning Mudiay could provide the ball handling ability one of the top teams in the draft need. Pick 4 DeAngelo Russell is the only other guard until pick 15. Russell provides scoring ability inside and out dominating the offence for Ohio State. However being at the NBA level Russell would be playing the Shooting Guard position I would assume.

The Pre Draft Camps starts live on ESPN 1 on Friday the 15th at 5:00am AEST. I will certainly be watching to see which players have done the right things over the off season and looking for some stand out performers.

If you don't like the draft talk feel free to talk anything NBA that is relevant to the upcoming season otherwise PLAYOFFS are getting exciting

If I'm one of Minny, New York, Lakers, or Philly and get the #1 pick, I'm taking Okafor. Lower ceiling than Towns but his floor is very high for a big man, and if I'm rebuilding I want a sure thing. If I'm a slightly better team that lucks into the first pick then I'm taking Towns.

That being said, Justice Winslow is going to be a stud - probably my favourite player in this draft.

Loved Winslow all season, stood up when it matters and always gave 100% on both ends of the court

If Philly get the number 1 pick they are not going another big, they will either trade out or go PG

Mudiay seems like the kinda guy they'd be after.

Does anyone actually know anything about Mudiay. All I know he struggles to shoot jump shots

I know its impossible but imagine Cavs with pick 1.

Okafor would fit in real well.

the 0.5% that the Thunder could get the number one pick gives me some hope haha.

I hope OKC move quickly on KD this year. Don't want it to drag on the whole season.
