They accepted Mozgov's team option from what I heard. Think that pays him about 4-5 million. Bargain.

Yeah I saw that and Varejo picked up for 9.7M

if they can stay fit TT Varejo Love Mozgov thats an amazingly deep front court that you can basically play a number of different ways.

Irving James Shumpert good back court, probably needs abit more depth though. I reckon Jr is gone and who knows on delly.

Yes! Jae Crowder has re-signed on a 5-year 35 million dollar deal. This will look like a bargain next season. Really solid player, definitely earned that money.

Also, Omir Asik has re-signed with New Orleans at 5 years 60 million. Surprising since they just re-signed Ajinca yesterday? Having both just doesn't make sense.

And Philly have done it again >:( 76ers acquire Nik Staukas (was pick 8 in the 2014 draft) in exchange for taking on the salaries of Carl Landry and Jason Thompson. They weren't going to use their cap space anyway so may as well get a good young prospect. And now Sacremento have the space to overpay Rondo who will fit terribly with the team. Nice one, Kings!

Jay

And on top of that Philly receive a pick upgrade from the Kings!? You have got to be flowering kidding me.

Sacremento really making a case for the most dysfunctional franchise in all of sports.

Jay

Oh and the deal also sends Philly the right to swap picks in two future drafts. Seriously, this is the worst trade since the James Harden deal.

The Kings should just be disbanded if they continue this shower.

thoughts on this being a fair enough punishment

Don't think it's fair at all. $3m is negligible in the scheme of things! Read a good article on it a couple of days back saying why they should've been payed a lot more, I'll try dig it up.
agreed there needs to be something hefty in the way of a first round pick with possibility of worse if it happened again

Here's the article I was talking about:

All depends who we get from FA

I think we can agree that we both dont want Rondo, but Monta and Matthews would be very nice

Correct. But Monta and Rudy on the same team would just be a disaster - both high usage guys that would take touches away from Boogie.

Matthews is good, yes. But he might help you win, maybe, 8 extra games next year? So you finish 10th in the West rather than 13th... I just cannot wrap my head around how anyone with half a brain can think this was a good idea.

Kings get: Rights to Arturas Gudaitis and Luka Mitrovic
76ers get: Guard Nik Stauskas, forwards Carl Landry and Jason Thompson, a top-10 protected pick beginning two years after the conclusion of the Kings' obligation to the Chicago Bulls, two future pick swaps

How Hinkie brainwashed the Kings in getting to add MULTIPLE pick considerations in this deal is beyond me. It was only LAST YEAR that they took Stauskas with pick 8, and now dump him + more, for the chance to maybe sign a slightly above average free agent.. And why not just wait until you have a commitment from the free agent before making the deal. Just incompetent. And it pisses me off how Philly are brainwashing teams like this, while Boston are flowered because we actually tried to field a competitive team last year. Until the lottery system is changed, tanking is and will always be the best option which sucks - this deal is another example of this.

I have no problem with Landry and Thompson getting offloaded for a salary dump. From what I read 76'ers wanted Stauskis (who was ordinary for us) and we said as long as you take the salary back.

Landry has barely played a game in 3 seasons and is on $6m a season.  Jason Thompson just doesn't fit next to Cousins (and never has), he also is only about $6m and the season after isn't guaranteed from memory.  We've been trying to trade Jason Thompson for a few seasons now but his contract just plain sucks.

The only part of the deal that upsets me is the pick swaps but maybe we did that to get the rights of the Mitrovic and Gudaitis.  Divac spent a lot of time watching a lot of European players before coming to Sacramento's back office.  Maybe he knows something we don't.

With the salary dump we have about $26m in salary cap space.  More than enough for 2 good FA's

Another report has us interested in Patrick Beverley - would be happy to have him and Matthews.  If you can't tell I would like to get Matthews.  3 & D is something we really need.

Guard Rotations: Beverley, Collison, McLemore, Matthews, McCallum, Miller
Forward Rotations: Gay, WCS, DMC, Casspi (should return), Derrick Williams (will be cheap FA), Eric Moreland

Just need another backup big guy

I would like to see the 2011 draft war room when we moved down the order to "secure" Jimmer Fredette.  That was a bad decision

Apparently the Kings just offered Wesley Matthews a 3 year $45m deal.  His preferred destination is Mav's (allegedly)
