Cheap upgrade target?

yes but his bye is pretty bad timing wish it was a week earlier so we can pick him up after it at rock bottom

He could well drag out a cheap pricetag for a few weeks with a couple of subs/ poor games

Andrew Hamilton from Newscorp saying that Rocky has failed a concusion test and DBeams is battling knee soreness

Seems odd, considering this article says he is away from the club today and will do tests during the week

Yeh not sure mate..

I asked about Beams

FFS...

Not normally one to whinge about "woe is me" but if this is true I've copped injuries/suspensions to every one of my starting premo MIDs bar Pendles... i.e. Gaz, J.Lewis, Sloane, Beams, Wines, Wallis

My first break for the year - my cash league opponent has Hodge, Lewis and Bennell.

No trades this week.

FU Bennell what part of team rules don't you understand geez why do players think they can get away with it in this day and age.

Fancy wanting to have a beer after a game of footy, that's disgraceful.

Fancy being specifically told not to and going ahead and doing it anyway

Not having a beer is part of their job - If I flowered up at work, my boss probably wouldn't be too lenient either

Stupid rule thought up by some co*khead consultant doesn't mean it's right. It's like sending Warnie on a fitness camp to make him a better bowler. The players are people not robots. I'd rather pay money to see Bennell play this week than Raines.

And of course we all do exactly what we're told like good mummies boys.

Now if you're Matera who hasn't lived up to his potential and done nothing with his career yet I could understand.

Rant over and no I don't have Bennell in my SC team.

Its not a stupid rule, its been implemented by clubs thousands of times and there are plenty of benefits. Its not just about the alcohol consumption (which limits rehab), you also get the team on a single focus and it can bond the group more. There may have also been a curfew involved.

At the end of the day its pretty simple, the club/leaders/coaches/whoever asked you to do something and you must do it.

Would it have been an issue if it was a beer at home after the match?

The thing is when clubs impose these penalties it penalizes the whole team the players in question still get paid the same just get a week off wouldn't it be better to hit them in the hip pocket for $20000 fine increasing every time they flower up ? might make them think twice it being a very expensive drink or whatever they have done wrong

They'd lose their match payments which is a decent whack

If they lose there match payments plus a hefty fine then think that would work because if a player keeps flowering up clubs usually end up getting rid of them anyway more money for the club and the rest of the team does not have to be penalized ?

Wouldn't be surprised if Bennell leaves the Suns anyway which is just what they need. They will have a team full of mediocre non drinking rule-following robots that play without passion (with a few exceptions) and without hope of attracting great players.

Great coaches/managers know how to manage men and get the best out of them, they may not have written the rule book for the Salvation Army, but their players will do anything for them. I don't see that at the Suns.

"OK boys, good to get our first win, we've still got a long way to go, now let's bond by everyone going their own way and having a complete alcohol ban." Or perhaps we could all socialise together for a few hours, enjoy each others company and regroup tomorrow at 7.00am for training.

Bennell was dobbed in by a team mate for being seen at a boxing match with a beer in his hand - give me a break!!
