Anyone considering upgrading defence last?

hey guys

Is anyone else out there really struggling to find anyone you are comfortable spending $400-$500k on? I'm almost considering upgrading mids and forwards until someone really stands up

Kennedy this week and gray looks the goods as I really am not sure on Mcdonald and houli etc

I think you should almost always upgrade defence last as there are less points to gain from going Oxley to Shaw then there is going Vandenberg to Sloane

yeah very true
I know I'm bleeding points there but along as kmac, brown, saad, oxley all remain to get games then I may just let it bleed cash for awhile and spend cash on fallen premos elsewhere

I'm willing to spend 500k on a defender but I've got to be confident that he will be a solid keeper in possible a wining side

Ask me who I want in the fwds and I'll tell you Gray, Buddy and Goddard. Mids - Sloane, JPK, Rocky, Gaz, and maybe Danger. Defence - wouldn't have a clue.

Defence is generally the last thing you should worry about.

As people have said, it doesn't help when you don't know who you'd get with much certainty anyway. Oxley and Saad performing well means there's little to gain.

That said, there are some defensive 'premos' that will be cheap soon.

I'd look at those fwds and mids first mate. Then jump on boys like Brodie Smith, Hibberd, etc who are well underpriced

I started with 3 prem defenders and 3 rookies on field (which I would call a success so far) but with Goodes sitting on my bench I want to move Tosh to D7 and get rid of Goodes

I could downgrade him to McKenzie but I feel that even though it's the lowest scoring line, I should get a 4th prem in now

If you already have 4, then yeah for sure just work on mids and fwds

who are these 'premo' players. i suppose if +500k at start of year get down to -400k worth considering.
