When assessing impact the splat juice flight path is not relevant.

Just isn't.

Agree both were a bit reckless, but neither deserves more than 2 weeks.

What are their records like?

I assume Lewis has form but Hodgie probably doesn't.

Maybe start a poll?

1, 2 (my guess),3 or firing squad (yours).  :P
I'm just annoyed with their obvious tactics.
"HAWTHORN could be facing the loss of its captain Luke Hodge and vice-captain Jordan Lewis to suspension after ugly first-quarter incidents during Saturday night's clash with North Melbourne.
In the first clash, Hodge elbowed Kangaroos captain Andrew Swallow in the head.
Hodge was perched on top of Roos sharpshooter Lindsay Thomas, who had just won a free kick, when Swallow tried to pull the Hawks captain off his teammate.
As he was being lifted, Hodge swung his left arm around and connected a blow to Swallow's head, sparking a melee.
If the incident injected some spite into the clash that was multiplied just moments later when Lewis collected Roos ruckman Todd Goldstein high and late in a marking contest on centre wing.
Earlier in the quarter, Taylor Duryea gave away a free kick for punching Swallow in the stomach."
Could Hawthorn just concentrate on playing footy? Or is this what they have to do to get some sort of edge?
Stamp this crap out MRP!

Maybe a week late.

I felt like punching something at quarter time last week.

A bit gung ho I agree.

Mate your a one eyed port supporter who is jealous of hawthorn clearly...

Don't worry about the juice splattering, everything looks bad in slow motion / pixels frozen. Even a bloke taking a uncontested chest mark would look bad when pixels frozen!

Suck it up that Hawks are better than you!

Biggest cry baby!

Tylo

Lewis = cheap shot to the head in play = 2 weeks

Hodge = cheap shot to the head not in play = 3 weeks, same as Yarran

Just lost a whole lot of respect for Hodge. That's not tough, just the opposite, very weak. Deserves more than 3. Hope the media crucify him like they did Yarran but wouldn't expect it cause everyone 'loves' Hodgey.

I honestly think Hodge pulled his short forearm jolt a bit.

Had he followed through, Swallow would have been in red a lot earlier than he was.

Disclaimer - Yes, I love Hodge.  :-*

Mine tend to be a deeper, less bogan shade of blue.

This happened every day in the 70s and 80s. People are too sheltered now and are getting a bit spooky about it all.
Yes they were both dirty, yes they will both get weeks.
They are still both guns and very fair players 99.9% of the time.

I enjoyed the first quarter and the biff. Nothing better than a bit of sting in the game.
Rest of the game was a snore

This. Although I didn't get to see any of it I love watching highlights of the big hits which never happens anymore ...
2 weeks for both.

Frozensage

Hodge being hodge will get off lightly.

dottman

Well said, think 2 & 3 weeks.

RaisyDaisy

Hodge's was one in one motion with a deflection.

I don't think Lewis's was as bad as most people think. Yes it wasn't good, but it was an attempted spoil that ended up whacking Goldy in the face, and it didn't impact Goldy

I reckon Hodge gets 2-3 and Lewis 1-2

Yeah I reckon you're right. Hodge's was defiantly worse but I think they will both get 2 weeks.
