Surely he'll be wanting out of the club next year.

Can't blame him

Who could. Garbage the way Horse treats him when others are lucky to get a game.

He can come to Port :D

He could pretty much get a gig in any team, gotta say he'd look better in fruit tingle colors. :P

Love to know what he's done wrong since he made it back into the League squad.

I to wonder how Horse plays Mitchell but to see all this talk about the coach hating or not liking him is a bit far fetched no coach would ever be successful treating players like that there is just something that he does not like about Mitchell's game and is trying to get his point across , I expect him to play this week but if he was dropped well he is the coach and his decision

Ricochet

Exactly Shaker. There are millions of reasons for giving certain players the vest. To say Horse gave it to him because he doesn't like him is silly. He may be sore, they may be managing his minutes, he may have been the only one of the 22 that could give 1 full qtr of full effort and could have been the difference if the game was closer, they may have been trying others in his normal role, it may have been planned and just his turn, etc

Also, the head coach doesn't make these decisions by himself. There are plenty of people invovled in team selection

IMO Titch will hold. Kids like BJack and Jones should go before him

Tom Mitchell is coming home. NicNat palms down to Mitchell, hands off to Shuey, hands off to Gaff lace out onto Darling's chest.

Darling misses to the left. The siren sounds. Lions win in a thriller, 89 to 86.

I think it's simply a matter of team balance. He plays a similar ball-winning role to JPK and Parker (who are both clearly ahead of him). The problem with Sydney is a lack of ball users not winners.

Against Hawthorn the only contested stat lost was hit-outs. The only stat lost by a large margin was free kicks (which also points a bit to clumsy players). The inside 50s were lost by 1, and yet Sydney were belted by 89 points. They're desperate to make those inside 50s count, and having Parker, JPK and Mitchell hacking it forward out of packs is clearly costing them in I50 efficiency and hurting them in opposition goals from turnovers.

Buying superstars up forward was probably an attempt to paper over this problem, but it isn't working. Right now Horse is booting some of the ball winners out of the midfield and replacing them with classier kicks. I would much rather see a focus on pressure forwards, because I think it can alleviate the same problem and the personnel are better suited for it. When McGlynn and Rohan are back I think Horse can afford to give Mitchell a permanent ball winning role.
