Two questions. Will he get a decent crack at it and who will pick him up over the next two weeks?

RaisyDaisy

1. Nobody knows
2. If he cements a spot and continue to crush then he will be a great pick, but that's still a decent IF at this stage due to Q1

Exactly this. He's a gun I really dunno why he's not getting a regular gig in the swans senior team... I had him in my preseason team cos I was sure he'd get a gig but no. I'll pick him up next year when he goes to another team, walks into their 22 and kills it then :P

kilbluff1985

defensive pressure is questionable and DE that's why he doesn't get regular games

to Risky to get him

Mailman the 2nd

Yeah Sydney managment isn't a huge fan so I wouldn't count on him being in the team with any consistancy

ando_10

just forget in general for mine. apparently horse and the swans selection board he doesnt have the work rate to defend hence his in and out (mostly out of the swans line up)

PICCOLLO

Will always have a question mark over his selection. Forget for this year.

Ricochet

Jump on. He's a gun and will prove why. They won't be able to drop him if he keep dominating

400k is way  too much for Mitchell.

Far too many reliable forwards drop to that price range during the year.

Last year I grabbed the Hoff in the high 300s and he averaged 98 for the second half of the year. Bit flukey, but better guys than Mitchell will present. Always do.

I disagree Honza. The kid is a possession pig. Surely you saw that against the dogs. Always in and under. I saw him get 2 possession in contests from follow up on multiple occasions.

Biggest concern is obviously his selection. Can anyone back up a comment I read on game chat that the coaching staff and selectors don't like him because he is full of himself? Or was that just speculation? I can understand kilbluff1985 comment about the defensive pressure. I have noticed his lack of it in the past, I thought yesterday was slightly better though. I think its more his defensive pressure after the ball has left the area. He sure gets enough tackles.

I also think a major selection factor is his butchering of the ball. Which I think has a lot to do with him trying to get up to speed with AFL over NEAFL. He is fine with his efficiency when he plays against spuds.

I can't see how, if cemented in the side, you would think 400k is too much for a kid that thinks 30 possessions is an avg day.

Getting 30 possessions isn't cementing his spot.

Getting 60 possessions in the NEAFL isn't cementing his spot.

A 100 average is useless if it's 6 games. Simple as that.

suggest you watch Horse's presser from yesterday

he was asked about Mitchell and seem very underwhelmed

Capper

Horse doesnt give too much away though.

Will be interesting to see who the Swans pick for the trip to Melbourne

He knows how to find the footy, and is an extremely good fantasy footballer because of this. However, he lacks speed, polish with his disposal and defensive pressure. Finding heaps of the ball doesn't guarantee you selection, and he's a pretty good example of how fantasy games don't necessarily reflect on-field value.
