I really really really like Dimma, but the media is going to put his livelihood on the line this week if this continues
They won't sack him, there's no point.

It would undo all his work to date and we'll be suffering a similar fate to the Suns.

But yeah, this is not good.

I'm never a fan of how media continuously speculate on people's jobs. a) very few of them actually know what it's like to be in that position, and those that do aren't usually the ones making the terrible headlines, and b) it's just not right to slam someone else's reputation to 'improve' their own

The list managers need to all be sacked at Richmond because their list is rubbish.

They were at best a chance to sneak into the 8 at the start of last year but unlikely to make it and my opinion hasn't changed.

Are you Richmond supporters really surprised with today? You don't have a team good enough to win a final so to expect a push for a premiership is unrealistic.

A gun young midfield in Martin, Cotch and Deledio. AA FF and FB in Riewoldt and Rance. A very good ruckman in Maric. They've always promised to build a potential premiership team around this core, however, what they've managed to build around them just hasn't been good enough. These days, every team not already competing for a premiership has a great young midfield! It's getting the depth past the core dozen guys that counts, and the Tigers haven't managed to do that well enough.

I don't even know where to start with this post.

The list isn't rubbish, that's such a load of shower. Carlton's list? That's rubbish. Ours isn't great, we're aware of that, we've fully acknowledged that there is a serious drop off in talent. The CEO himself has admitted it.

We're not surprised, but we expected our team to show up and show some fight after a terrible performance last week. Nobody is expecting a premiership, I don't even know where that came from. At this point, I doubt we're looking to finals either. We need wins on the board first, we need to be beating teams like the Dogs and Dees. I can guarantee that's definitely more of a concern than the shower you're talking about.

Just for the record the Tiges have not lost this game yet  ;)

Beatle subbed, Lloyd on.

Beatle barely sighted today, probably back to the VFL next week unfortunately.

Before I start I did not have Richmond in the 8 before the start of the season and I expected Geelong to win today.

Fair enough, I like baiting Richmond supporters, but your board and coach expected at the start of the year to win a final - not just make the finals.

You have the 3rd worst midfield in the competition IMO - only St Kilda and Carlton have less depth. You bring in players like Grigg, Thomas, Chaplin, Miles etc instead of trading to get draft picks and get the top talent. As soon as Cotchin is tagged out of the game the intensity around a contest to help him out just isn't there.

Richmond did not actively try to recruit a gun midfielder in the off-season. What would have Trengove offered to Richmond that their middle of the range mids don't already offer?

If you are 2-6 after losing in the next few weeks which I expect will Dimma survive?

He says they can turn up and their best football can beat anyone. Why today have they turned up after that flowering rubbish from last week and not kick a goal in the first quarter against an injury savaged Geelong.

I concede the game is not over but I expected Geelong to win by 6-8 goals. Anything closer IMO is a good result for Richmond.

Nige, you are the only Richmond supporter I know who doesn't expect Richmond to be in the top 6 come the end of the season.

Jukes

Richmond are flowering awful

But they should still push for the 8

Building a side around recycled players is an interesting strategy but doesn't really work

I'm not going to reply that, not because I don't want to, but I've already said so much on this issue in the past couple of weeks and even before that and I don't want to sound like a broken record.

The fact that you're baiting is genuinely unappreciated. It's a bit of a dick move and it's very easy to kick somebody while they're down. Honestly thought you were better than that.

Can Richmond please stop tagging Selwood.

Almost took two marks in the goal square  :(

I apologise. I was not trying to offend, just trying to analyse Richmond from an unbiased perspective.
