Everyone's going Pendles or Swan into Fyfe.... Gonna change it up and go with cripps for the gigs

worst idea ever even if it pays off

Lets be honest, with fyfe playing Melbourne, you wouldnt want to take anything under 135ish anyway

it's like 35% chance Pendles gets that it's like %5 Cripps gets that again

I totally agree, its just everyone will go pendles or swan... if cripps fails, fyfe will score big anyway

"Decided to mortgage the house and play 500k system in Powerball - won $40 million". Still worst idea ever?

Nothing can be the worst idea ever if it actually pays off. That makes it risky, but still a stroke of genius

kilbluff1985

so if Pendles goes big and get 150 and everyone locks it in

you go Cripps and he goes 90

then you have to go Fyfe and he goes 120

the chances of Cripps outscoring Pendles is so small it's not funny

but whatever it's your team

yes it's still the worst idea

So with Swanny going in the 90s as VC you could still bank Sloane as the big C right? The choice is still a gamble. The VC is just a free hit

GraysFan

I get what your saying
just gotta be different sometimes when you have a sure thing as captain anyway...

Thewizz71

And then you knock back 120 and Fyfe goes and does a Rory  :o :o

Then you either have no original ideas, or you're a billionaire from all the amazing ideas you put into place every day :D

Or maybe you always wear beige corduroy because it's the 'safe choice'? No guts, no glory I reckon. No one's won the lot by playing it safe

kilbluff1985

haha actually i get called an "ideas man" all the time\

my ideas just make sense and seem logical

your idea is like

lets cut off my arm cause next week the government might say they have invented super new human arms and i can be a quarterback in the NFL

GraysFan

Common, putting cripps as vc isnt that bad hahaha

besides could be worse and go with oxley or brown  :P

I'd look at it more like Hayne quitting a million $ NRL contract to try out for the NFL. If he fails, sure it's a terrible idea, however if he beats the odds and makes it, it will have been a great idea, despite his chances being small from the outset.

My point is that a potentially poor idea that success is no longer poor, much like a great idea that fails can never be 'the best idea ever'.

Personally I don't have a loophole option so I need to back in a C, and of course will go with the %, but I see the VC as a calculated risk if you can do it.

Btw I don't disagree with your fundamental point re the players, just the suggestion that a successful gamble can still be a terrible idea

kilbluff1985

yeah but leaving one sport to try another one is much more likely to happen then winning the lottery even with a ton of tickets

there is hardly any risk in that example the guy will still have an income

in the lottery one you are risking house and could end up on the street

risk vs reward isnt there

anyway i'm done with this convo
