We all know the value of a trade, but sometimes you need to go against the norm in order to gain an edge

Is anyone considering making the hard call on a player they should probably keep and be patient with?

I'm sure there are plenty of Newnes owners who have thought about it. Even Malceski and Deledio owners too

I've only ever really used luxury trades in the later part of a season if I have been in a position to do so, but am contemplating doing one or two much earlier

Is anyone going for it? And with what player?

Griffen is ever so tempting....

Plenty of people pull the trigger prematurely this time of year RD, but how do you know that your 'luxury' trade now wont become your "Gee, I wish I had just one more " trade later?

True Rico, but that's more a corrective trade isn't it?  Basically admitting you got that selection wrong in your starting team (I've already done one such trade, Scott D Thompson, what was I thinking!!), however to my mind a luxury trade is someone who is perhaps underperforming by 5-10 points on your preseason predictions (and mind you the sample size of 3/4 rounds is pretty small to make that call) and you trade them for someone similar but who is currently performing better.  My question with that then is why didn't you start with them in the first place?

You wont know if your trafe was a win or loss until a month or so down the track.

Wells to JMartin is my tempter this week. But if Wells comes back next week and averages 90 until the byes, it's a wasted trade. I know I cant trade in lost points now. But even if he is back next week, what if he throws in another sub par score and Martin tons up again? And it forces me to play Clark this week, what it he throws in a stinker?

yeh thats fair. Every situation would be different, it will depend on the players involved

Thinking of doing Griffen to the Bont. Then swap Gray I to mids and get Vanders score. Good or bad?

Hurn for me.

Chopped him this morning. Might bite me, but oh well!  ::) :P

Newnes is the one in the gun

Hopefully not after QT, because he's doing a terrible job at it!

Yeah that really sucks, if Lumumba was scoring well I could deal with it but both spudding it up is killing me

Doggoneit

I'm holding off until I see more

I would only do it if you are bringing in a guaranteed top 6 player.

Eg Newnes to Smith, Griff to Jelwood etc.
