Just wondering where my fellow Crows fans see him at?

He's a gun and would definitely get games at many other AFL sides but can't seem to nail down a spot at Adelaide. He carves up the SANFL every week but when he makes the AFL he is often subbed or the sub (and does well but only gets a quarter or two). Made the Round 1 side as the sub but dropped the last two weeks.

I can see him leaving if he doesn't get more opportunities. Don't know who should make way (maybe Wright?) but I don't want him to leave, cos he's got the talent to be a quality player!

I cant believe he stayed in Adelaide and surely right now asking himself the same? ???

I think he can play forward too, has good hands and I like what I see of him up there. But he's a clearance machine and just needs a few weeks unsubbed to see what he can do! I'd rather see him, Grigg and CEY get games ahead of Thommo and Matt Crouch at this stage

It's Dumbetriou's fault he cant get a game! If there was no sub then he'd have played more full games for the club and shown his talent! ;)

tbagrocks

.....  aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand   Sub again! Poor bloke!

Must be wondering why he re-signed!

tbagrocks

RIGHTY-OH Unsubbed and starting against the second division that is the reserves for the GCS, anyway we don't care and neither will JL!

His chance to actually shine! Really happy he isn't starting Sub again ::)  I'll bet he looks good in the middle against nobody!

Hagebear

Full game v Gold Coast reserves... 11 touches in a 40 point wil for 35pts DT.

Matt Wright; 28 touches, 90DT
Mitch Grigg; 14 touches, 1 goal, 83DT
Matt Crouch; 13 touches, 55DT (started in the green vest)

It was Lyons chance to shine this week. Was given a full game to show what he can do and didn't produce. With CEY due back soon and Sloane, Richie Douglas and Brad Crouch in the not to distant future I can't see him making much of a mark at Adelaide.

tbagrocks

Had a few good clearances early, unsure what happened to him, wasn't a bad game, just wasn't a great one. Best thing now is to allow him to unvesto another!

Poor kid must be sick of seeing colours in Adelaide ::)

I'll ask here
Grigg has played quite well the last couple of weeks, can he hold his spot longer?
Who is he in for,Douglas?

With three top midfielders out and Brodie surely to miss after his second head knock in a month. Griggy could play all year the way he has been going about it!

There's a spot or two up for grabs and Griggy knows one right now can be his!

LF

How about Brodie Martin?
How is he going?
must have been close to getting a game this week.

anyway, he's been killing it in the SANFL this year but like the last few years he isn't being given a run in the AFL side...

Lyons has played 6 AFL games this year - and been sub in five of them

I really can't see him sticking around next year; hopefully he gets a decent run soon or he's gone

In hindsight, should've traded him at the end of last year when there were a few clubs interested. We have too many inside mids and I wouldn't blame him for wanting to go to another club for more opportunities.

It's a shame but I agree. I really want him to stay cos I really like him, but can't blame him if he goes.

He can go forward too - he kicked 4 against Collingwood at the G on a Friday night in 2013, I think - and I rate him as a much MUCH better player than Matt Wright, yet Wright keeps getting picked for a similar role...

I'd definitely pick him ahead of Wright and VB as well. He has kicked 4 in a game like you mentioned and VB and Wright even in their wildest dreams could never do that in an AFL game.

VB's days are numbered IMO. Will be interesting to see who makes way when Kerridge and Crouch come back, but I reckon Walsh plays favourites a bit at selection and doesn't make the bold decisions that are required sometimes (case in point - Freo dropping Mzungu)

But yeah definitely infuriates me when guys are not playing good footy and there are blokes consistently smashing it in the 2s not being given a proper run. Blokes like Riley Knight and Rory Atkins would've had a few games under their belt at a lot of other clubs by now

tbagrocks

it's bizzare, 3rd Q in the SANFL and Lyons 25 disposals, next is Matty Crouch 20 and CEY 15

Clearly excels at that level so why, why cant he hold down a spot in the seniors? Not like he's a poor disposals he's actually quite good :-\

Poor kid needs a trade I reckon!
