Has everyone forgotten Hopper?
I had him in my top 10 prediction, not sure where I predicted his bid though (maybe Gold Coast with pick 6). Have him as the second player to attract a bid - after Mills (I think Essendon will bid on him).

I didn't have Kennedy in the top 10 (shallow draft my a**  :P)

Lions should not worry about either Keays or Hipwood. I think it's a zero possibility that either will attract a bid in the top 10 unless another club tries to spite them (the AFL integrity (or joke) department would likely question the bid first if it's for Keays - conversely, a top 10 bid for Hipwood would not be considered questionable, however it would most likely be out of spite that would not be investigated - my reasons for this are that Hipwood is a unique player while Keays is a 12-18 range midfielder and not a top 10er)

if they're not worth a top 10 bid and someone bids on them, give it to them :P

My bidding predictions

Mills, Hopper and Hipwood will probably get top 10 bids.

Kennedy will get a bid from Carlton's 2nd pick.

Keays will get a bid from Richmond or St Kilda.

Himmelberg will get a bid from Fremantle, maybe not, they wanna stay in GWS's good books.

Rice will get a bid from Doggies or Collingwood.

Silvagni will probably get a round 3+ bidding.

This is the explanation of how academy and father/son picks work. While it probably does not mean much to clubs without academies and Father/Son selections it is of extreme interest to clubs that do.  Using my Lions bias as an example some mock drafts are that Hipwood could be bid at pick 9 which equates to 1469 points and Keays at 13 which equates to 1212 points. Given a 25% discount Brisbane require picks totalling 2011 to match both. Brisbane with picks 38 - 42 has 2146 points stockpiled so have covered but you can see the slight concern if offers are received earlier than expected.
You will also note in the examples that picks used are moved to rear of draft with a 0 value.  So the effect on draft order with GWS, Sydney and Brisbane having to match bids early will mean a number of clubs will move up the draft order, eg After Brisbane secures Hipwood and Keys clubs behind pick 42 will be moving up 5 places.
So all in all makes for an interesting draft night as no one will know when academy or father/son bids will be made. Clubs will have to be thinking on their feet whether to match or not.

They'll almost certainly end up in different guernseys so getting them confused should become less of a problem.  :P

This lad will almost certainly become a fan favourite wherever he goes, but where he goes is the big question since he hasn't played footy for a while - Ryan Burton

King Cripps

Where do you guys reckon Harry McKay will go? I think he is probably the 20th best player in the draft but because of his height and position he plays he could go as early as 9. Was just wondering your thoughts on him.

Nige

Any club looking for a solid forward who can pinch hit will have a serious look at him.

A few phantom drafts going around have him going to somebody like the Crows at 9 or the Blues at 11. Could be the case.
