CARLTON is set to blood another youngster against Essendon on Saturday with Irish recruit Ciaran Byrne firming to make his AFL debut.

A former Gaelic football star, Byrne has impressed over the preseason and in the VFL and is likely to get the nod against the Bombers

With Sheehan out Byrne has had some good pre-season form so it's not a surprise. Buckley and Whiley would be stiff to miss considering they have had some decent reserve form and how bad the seniors were last week. Maybe one or both a late in. Graham would be the other stiff to not got a game.

I'd be surprised if JKH isn't the sub.

Not the end of the world for me if Newton or Vandenberg is sub.

What's the deal with Graham? Micky obviously doesn't rate him, couldn't do much more to get a call-up.

He is a plodder that doesn't have exceptional disposal. They can't afford to carry all of Graham, Cripps and to an extent Carrots.

I only have him in one of the comps I don't care about. I think I have coverage for him but I will check. I didn't see the game on the weekend but was he that bad? Considering they just lost Close and don't have a plethora of talls you think he would have had to  be really bad to lose his spot. What is the go with Harris Andrews? Good NEAFL form? More of a forward that can pinch hit in the ruck?

I just heard he is a defender but he is still a pretty big kid at 200cm.

Difficult to say with Hartung in but O'Rourke out. Anderson didn't disgrace himself.

Think most will go Belly to R2 and Bont into the forwards. That's what I'd be doing.

Goldy and Ryder
Goldy and Maric with Ryder up forward
Sauce and Goldy
Sauce and Nic Nat

So none of them have Berger
