Goodes>Oxley
I remember Holz saying he only starts rookies that are named R1 and given the lack of choices I thought he'd be in his team...sure enough...but I personally thought Oxley would be in and out with Seedsman returning...and paid more the likes of Goodes and C Pearce.
I dumped Clancee for Brown in preference to Oxley after R1, thinking again Oxley that won't be in the 22 for long and liking the fact that Brown outscored him.
The time has come.

I wanted to trade out Goodes last week but with Ablett and Lambert injured I had to put my attention on them.

Goodes was named the sub again, but Dale Morris is now injured for 2 months.

Surely this will see Goodes given a bigger role?

I hope he either plays and increases his output or doesn't play at all.

If he does play and scores bleh, it's not that big of a deal as he will probably bleed as much $$ as simpson.
It's not as nice as using a little cash to upgrade a cash cow, but better than him costing you money to make the upgrade.

I'm not sure about the Doggies backline structure, but perhaps Michael Talia goes into more of a lockdown role and Goodes fits into the 6?

I don't have him, but maybe see where he's named this weekend.

Good point on Morris. Hopefully leads to more game time for Goodes

I decided to exploit my warchest to it's extent in order to get Brodie Smith in for Goodes. Already had McIntosh, Saad and Oxley. Is that a good move?

Yes it is, Smith is the front runner for D1 this year, 100+ wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

I am not sure that it is necessary - just yet anyway.

Those rookies seem to be scoring well and if Goodes is not named, his price won't drop and you can use him for loopholing.

Smith's BE is 107, so he probably won't smash that, so again, no rush.

I haven't seen your team, but most I have seen have more pressing issues elsewhere.

Certainly not a bad move, but whether or not you need to do it this week is worth asking.

Good luck.

Fair enough.

I think for sanity, I am more happy with watching Goodes drop a little cash and be a bench warmer rather than having to choose to only field one of McIntosh/Oxley or Saad. I have trouble picking 2 to field as it is!

Currently have eyes on Simpson so hopefully his price drop matches somewhat that of Goodes and you really aren't missing out on much cash lost. Smith will be an upgrade target when I upgrade cash cows and he comes back down in price.

dmac07

Warming my bench for now. Will just field two out of Saad, mcintosh, oxley instead of 1. If he comes good and makes cash great, if not Ill keep an eye on Jake kelly, whitecross and other defense rookies and downgrade in a few weeks even if i only make 100k.

BomberSam

If he is not named, I will sit him on the bench for an extra week and get no cash generation or loss, as well as having Lambert in the mids and Lamb in the forward line. This will give me an extra week to look at rookie downgrade options such as Byrne. In a couple of weeks time I'll be able to get a fallen premo (Parker?), then when one of my defensive rookies is all fattened up, use my warchest to turn them into a Brodie Smith.

If Goodes is named this week, I will simply go Goodes to Smith I think, and perhaps miss out on a fallen premo in a couple of weeks time or cut two rookies (one downgrade, one for the upgrade) prematurely in order to get Parker in.
