Is Oxley a must down back?

With Oxley's score of 100+ on the weekend is he now a must have cash cow down back, or its still too early to tell with Collingwood's unsettled side.

I do have the option of sideways trading next week N.Brown ----> Oxley depending on what his b/e will be.

Current defenders: Hibberd, MacMillan, H.Shaw, Newnes, Ibbotson, K.McIntosh (A.Saad, N.Brown)

Cheers for the advice

I wouldn't say he is a must but Brown>Oxley is a good move and I would do it for the 40k but in saying that if you have bigger problems I would address them first.

Thanks Money.

Waiting to see how the rest of the round goes first.

1-2 possible corrective trades I can make next week depending on rookies/mid pricers b/e end up being.

Cripps being out this week and Brayshaw the sub hurt a little as I originally had NVB in my team all a long but switched last minute for Brayshaw (Kid probably still has bigger ceiling then NVB, just need to taper the expectations being a 1st year player)

I am trying to decide this myself

Think it will come down to what rank I give the corrective trades.

Whether it is the
Goodes upgrade via a gaz downgrade
The goodes downgrade to oxley and get van berlo

Starting to lean to the gaz down goodes up

Pretty much what I am thinking.

It's a tough choice but the priority should be getting the best rookies in, Gaz will drop but not as much as the rookies will appreciate. Both NVB & Oxley will potentially make 200k+, Gaz is unlikely to hit 540k (600k at worst I think).

kfewster

Yeah thanking lucky stars didn't start with Gaz or Rocky this year, dodged a bullet me thinks.

bonebones

He is this years Sam Dwyer. Pivotal role for Collingwood. Will get to 400k+, then will tire. Marley Williams and he are our most important rebounders. Pendles has him in his team too  ;)

Agree

My worry is gaz could be rested ?

I just posted on the other thread a decent trading plan, Gaz to Sloane, miller to NVB this week. Then Goodes to Oxley next week, this will still net cash given Ox is only averaging 75. Then hold fire until the rookies make some dough and bring in Brodie Smith.

Or give Gaz another week and go Goodes to Oxley and Miller to NVB?

Really depends on team selections though.

This has merit, Gaz may decide to lift his game but the gap between Gaz & Sloane will be closing. In this instance I would probably bring in Danger who shouldn't appreciate too much.

Wouldnt say Oxley is a must bad glad I started him. Can see him averaging mid 70s which is great for his price. Goodes for oxley is a good trade. I have to figure out who else i can trade him too.

Slick5

Hmm Maybe, thinking about trading him in for Nathan Brown.
