I need to get rid of Ablett, and I have Cockatoo and Goodes too

Now, I've been thinking NVB is a must for me because he should make us 150-200k over the next 3-5 weeks, but have now looked at the possibility of passing on him

Option 1
Ablett to Bont and Cockatoo to NVB, then next week Goodes to Smith (or any premo defender)

Or, if I pass on NVB all together I can do this

Option 2
Ablett to Bont and Cockatoo to Shiel. It means I'm stuck with Goodes for a few weeks as I'd have next to no cash so will upgrade him once a rookie has mooed, but the injection of Bont and Shiel into my mids will give me a midfield of Pendles, Fyfe, Jelwood, Dangerfield, Shiel, Bont, Vanders and CEY with Heeney, Cripps and Miller on the bench

Looks pretty damn strong to me which I love, and will score me more points, but means I'll need to hang onto Goodes and miss out on NVB's cash generation

Goodes might still play, so whether he gets dropped will possibly influence this, but even if he does I'd still have enough cover down back and can carry him for a few weeks until I can upgrade him

I've got Gray, Bartel, Martin and Swan in the forwards already too, so eventually I'll move Bont to F5 and I reckon Shiel will be good enough for M8 at worst. I actually tipped him to breakout this year before rd1, and am gutted I didn't go with my gut and pick him from the beginning

Definitely a power play, I say go for it if you believe Shiel will be a keeper, I think he will and I would consider it myself if I didn't have such a flimsy defence. NVB will put on 200k, Shiel will put on 100k if our predictions are correct, not a massive amount.

Currently sitting 8421 overall .
Can see slone as a top 3 mid for the season and like nvb scores and price and B.E.

i orginally wanted D .Rich insted of NVB. But cant find a way to afford him.

Thoughts please . Note these are my first 2 trades of the season

I'm considering a left field approach myself in order to generate maximum cash

Gaz to NVB
M.Cox to Bont via Bellcho

It would mean I had Bellcho on the ruck bench, but he's there as cover, and my other forwards are out scoring him anyways - I'd have Bont, Swan, Martin, Bartel, Hogan and Salem on field, with Clark and Lonie on the bench

I see this as a standard rookie correctional trade (Cox to NVB), but instead of having to wait for a viable cow down the track, as soon as a forward is mooing I can trade them out for Cox/Read, reopen the link and spend the cash. It would also leave me 200k for a future upgrade, and I'd have all the major rooks.

Would mean money making rooks everywhere instead of a donut each week. I might not have a loophole player for a couple of weeks, however I've got Goodes, and something tells me he might miss anyways. I'd only have four premo mids for a while, but not long before the next upgrade.

Some might say it's a wasted trade dumping Cox with the aim to trade him back in, however I'm sure no one would hesitate to correct their Lambert pick, yet still get him back in when he returns and is on the bubble...

Too much on the bench at this stage, Belly is doing fine as R2, move him when the rookies have maxed out.

Thing is I've currently got Belcho forward, but he's likely to warm the bench anyways. Rucks are Mummy and Goldy, so set and forget.

So Belcho on the bench regardless, the change is a moneymaking rook over a deadweight for a few weeks

Fair enough, I can see the logic, go for it if you feel Belly is necessary (which he is in my opinion).

JBs-Hawks

If your going to put belly on the bench you may aswell keep cox and just trade Belly,

Not game enough to be a mummy owner with no back up for those 1 week niggles though... If there was a viable playing rookie ruck option it would be a different story I guess

im gonna go gaz> bont (gray to mids) and cripps to sheil

BOOM! nice!

Gaz injured is a blessing in disguise...

Looks good to me

Try and keep Cripps if possible I think. If you have Cockatoo or Miller, turn them into NVB before Cripps

Anyone considering the value of no trades and holding some on the rest of the comp?  I have a few underperforming premiums, but no one that I need to trade out. Have most of the essential rookies except NVB. My only worries are Goodes/Pearce in the backs, and Cripps in the mids.

If Cripps is named and not subbed, is it still worth trading him to NVB?

Im unhappy with Goodes and Pearce, but what options are there to trade to? I started with Saad, Mcintosh and Oxley. Get N.Brown and put two out of those three of those on the field?

Goodes to Brown and Miller to NVB?

Cripps to NVB?

Lamb to McGrath if Lamb isnt named?

Team is
Def - Shaw, Lumumba,  Newnes, Pearce, Goodes, Mcintosh  (Saad, oxley )
Mid - Pendlebury,  Fyfe, Selwwod, Beams, Parker, Cripps, Vanderberg,  CEY (Heeney, Nelson, Miller)
Ruck - Jacobs,  Bellchambers  (Reilly)
Fwd - Gray, Martin, Franklin, Swan, Clark, Salem (Lonie, Lamb)

Thanks for your thoughts guys.

Although Cockatoo most likely has the better JS, it has to be him with his high BE and lack of future cash generation

Just leave Miller at M11, and use him to loophole rookies if he gets dropped
