5 years. 5 long years I've been doing this and all I've got out of it is a HoF induction, lots of appreciation, some satisfaction, and a bit of fun. Actually, that's not half bad! Now if only someone would pay me... ;)

I'm back again! For those new to the forums, each week I will tell you some statistics on a player's last 3 games, their last 3 against this week's opponent, and their last 3 at this ground. I will try to give some details of their opponents recent stinginess or generosity (after about Round 3), and I might even look at the weather (if I'm organised). I will also do a quick overview on my thoughts and have a guess at their score for this week. From all this, I'll give you my top 5 captain choices for the week. As per usual, if you have any requests, let me know and I'll see what I can do (no promises).

No Rocky this week and I'm not touching Ablett until his shoulder proves sturdy. That leaves... well... read on.

If you want any requests this week, get in quick! I won't be able to do any on Friday.

The thoughts:

Priddis
What the hell was that last week, Priddis?! Decent against Carlton and good at home but I wouldn't touch him until he shows form. Prediction - 100

Ellis
Every now and then, I like to put in a player to make sure you steer clear. Sure, Ellis was the only Richmond premium to play well last week. On top of that, he broke a tag! However, despite the fact that he'll probably keep improving this year, he is putrid against the Bulldogs. Prediction - 75

Boyd
Could Boyd be back?! If he plays off the halfback line every game, I say yes! The best thing is that he's been good against the Tigers even recently, when his form has been down. Look for a good one this week. Prediction - 115

Treloar
I have been kicking myself very hard since Sunday because I removed Treloar from all of my teams late Friday night. Last week was solid, this week should be just as good. The Dees might not be pushovers but he's got a good record against them. He is 0/8 at Manuka though. Prediction - 110

Swan
A little less BACK than I though he would be, Swanny has still returned to premium status and I think you should be expecting tons every week. Adelaide form is shaky though. Prediction - 100

Pendlebury
Likes the Crows, likes Etihad. What's not to like? Prediction - 115

Sloane
We're unlikely to see Macaffer this week, the reason for Sloane's 62 against the Pies, but his previous scores without a tag (104 and 82) aren't exactly exciting either. He has potential to be good but I'd proceed with caution. Prediction - 95

Ablett
Shoulder. No. Will only do better than last week because St Kilda are easier to score on than Melbourne. Prediction - 80

Ebert
He started with a bang last year and it looks like he's doing it again. That's pretty perfect for this week because he's up against the Swans, who he really likes playing against, and at home where he started last year with a nice big bang. Definitely worthy of the C if you have him. Prediction - 130

Gray
Loves Adelaide Oval and also enjoys playing the Swans. Another Power player worth looking at! Prediction - 120

Parker
Fingers crossed he pulls up well after last week's knock because he was good against Port last year and has shown he doesn't fear the Adelaide Oval Fortress. Prediction - 110

Johnson
Definitely an interesting one this week. His record against Freo is atrocious because he always attracts the Crowley tag. Guess who isn't playing this week?! Still way too risky for me, considering last week's poor game, but he could surprise everyone. Prediction - 95

Selwood
Destroys the Dockers. Loves the Cattery. Playing against a team who gave away plenty of points last week. The only downside is that 76 from last week. Expect a BIG turn around this week. Prediction - 120

Barlow
A bit lower than I would've liked last week but still got that handy ton. Has a great record against the Cats and did well his one game at Kardinia. Look for him as a legitimate option this week. Prediction - 120

Fyfe
Probably will be solid based on those numbers but not good enough. Prediction - 100

Heppell
Not great against the Hawks and the game might get ugly if Essendon's fitness is still low. Prediction - 90

Lewis
Screw his form against the Bombers, this guy picked up where he left off last year and is on fire. With Rocky gone and Ablett weakened, Lewis is the best player in Fantasy. If you like a perma captain (or don't have Ebert), this is your guy! Prediction - 130

Beams
If I were a gambling man, I'd be betting that Beams bounces back this week. I mean, aside from the numbers being in his favour (good scores vs. North, great form at Etihad, North giving pu anything and everything last week), there's also the undeniable alliteration in Beams Bounces Back. Look at him if you don't have any of the really big options. Prediction - 115

The verdict:
1.   Ebert (130)
2.   Lewis (130)
3.   Barlow (120)
4.   Selwood (120)
5.   Gray (120)

Requests:

Hodge - Requested by Jalapeno
Last week: 115
Last 3 against Essendon: 45, 126, 94 (88 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 115, 157, 134 (135 avg)

Hodgey started well last week with a great kick-to-handball ratio that will continue to give him good scores unless he gets tagged. His 45 against the Bombers was due to injury but, even then, his history against them is poor and they're his second least favourite team to play. The lack in fitness of Essendon might help Hodge if the Hawks dominate but I still wouldn't go there this week. Prediction - 95

Gibbs - Requested by Jalapeno
Last week: 96
Last 3 against West Coast: 121, 93, 73 (96 avg)
Last 3 at Subi: 89, 93, 73 (85 avg)

No reason to consider Gibbs this week. His 121 against the Eagles was his first ton against them since 2010. He's also never tonned up against the Eagles in the West. Prediction - 90

LaHug

Just to follow up from last week. There might still be mistakes in my magical spreadsheet so can people please point out any mistakes they notice?

Jalapeno

Hey mate awesome stuff once again :-)

Could I request hodge and Gibbs please

Mr.Craig

The first round in a long time where I can't decide on a captain.

I need to trade Sidebottom out so I think I'll be turning him into Lewis and giving him the C. I'm incredibly tempted to go Ebert instead though...

Thanks Huggy. I Have never been so stumped on my captain before haha :-/

Mr.Craig

Probably tossing up between Barlow if I decide to bring him in (although there's a well known curse with captaining players the first game they are brought in) or maybe Gray.

I'd be pretty cautious about Ebert. Prior to last week he had only gone 130+ five times in 147 matches. He went back to back 130+ in Rounds 14 and 15 2013 but his average score the week after a 130+ game is 42.2 points lower. To me it points towards a score of 95-105.

Jalapeno

Think I'm gunna captain Gray. The curse you speak of is making me not want to put it on Lewis haha

Something I hadn't looked at and I probably won't bring him in but I still think his good form against the Swans makes him the best option for this week. It's whether or not he can sustain it that's the big issue.

Mr.Craig

I disregarded my advice about putting the C on a traded in player. Apologies to Lewis owners.

I also traded in Lewis and gave him the C. Let's ruin him together.
