I feel like this season will be a good one, and I also feel the need to share my team even though I will probably not listen to any advice I get. Anyhow, this is the 30 I selected for Round 1, and there will be no trades heading into Round 2, even if a player gets dropped.

First spot I would like to upgrade is probably getting Robbie Gray from Christian Salem. But it's only been one round so I really can't tell which rookies will be the first to cull.

Oh yeah, $50k left in the bank at this stage :)

All teams are similar but since making 2 trades I have 21 common players.
My Simpson, Your Hurn = tie
My Houli, Your Hamling = 1 to me
My Pendles, Your Fyfe = tie
My Danger, Your Ward = tie
My Neale, Your Beams = 1 to you
My Sheed, Your Newton = 1 to you
My Dusty, Your Buddy = tie
My Saad from the saints, Your Hoff = 1 to you
My Lonie, Your Lamb = tie
My bank 200k, Your bank 50k = 1 to me
My trades 28, Your trades 30 = 1 to you

My score 2, Your score 4

You win 4-2

Haha I definitely do need help with my team, am not the best going around :P

I made two trades heading into Round 3: N.Brown -> Oxley, and T.Lamb -> McGrath. Scored a decent 2,216 and have jumped into the top 10k.

So $74,200 left and 28 trades. Only thing that has crossed my mind is Hurn -> Pittard? Which is annoying because I only chose Hurn over Pittard before Round 1 as I could afford to do so :-\ Trouble with Hurn is he is playing lockdown defence with MacKenzie and Brown injured. If McGovern is also out injured I think Hurn has to go before he loses more cash.

Newton is another with a high BE, him to Gregson is a possibility, might just hold here and wait another week then get Krakouer.

Westhoff was my fwd line smokey who isn't living up to the 140 average I was expecting :P But Port's draw opens up after two weeks and I think it's worth holding onto him, he will come good. Also the return of Lobbe (Whenever that is) will surely have a positive effect on his scoring as he won't have to ruck and can focus on being everywhere else on the ground.

What is Newton's B/E? See if you can hold him one more then dump him to Krak if he is still getting a game.

I would also be holding Hurn. If he scores poorly against the Lions who lack talls then dump him

It is a high Breakeven when you consider he might only score 60. It probably is worth holding to Krakouer though.

So now we have another issue with Jaden McGrath sidelined. What it does do is give me another loophole option, however the thought of bringing in Krakouer or Tarrant a week early is tempting. I have until Saturday evening for that, and I want to upgrade next week, so maybe I will make one trade this week after all.

Heeney/Newton -> Tarrant (via Krakouer) is pretty much locked in I think. The second trade (if there is one) is stumping me at the moment.

I have considered the following options:
- Dowgrade Hurn right down to Whietcross/Kelly/Andrews
- Turn KMac to Whitecross/Kelly/Andrews
- Turn KMac to Pittard/TMac/Hibberd
- Upgrade Salem to a fwd premium

Which one of those may depend on who gets named. Heeney playing means I will likely downgrade Newton and therefore can upgrade Salem to Martin, which I can't do if I downgrade Heeney. Hurn/Newnes/Lumumba, as annoying as they are, trading them now is probably not worth it, they have no value so I may as well try to stick it out and see if they come good. And it's not like there are any lock options that are affordable right now.

Lost out big time by captaining Ward. Basically all I am disappointed about from the weekend :(

Making a POD move this week, could pay off big time or could send me down big time. Basically Salem has hit his top, and I regret not doing this last week, but Salem -> "Betts" is what I am eyeing off. I only own 5 players with a Rd 11 bye, and yes Martin is one glaring option there, but I have a feeling about Betts. GCS, St. K, GWS next three, he won't be this cheap for a while. So basically I'm overlooking Gray, Goddard, Martin, Bontempelli to do this.

The other trade will be Newton -> McInnes/Glenn. If I might go to Glenn, as McInnes might not have the best scoring potential, then next week that opens up the door for Vanders -> Watson/Pendlebury and a back rookie downgrade to McKenzie.

Thoughts? I could do Martin and Watson. Probably be pushing it if I wanted Martin this week and Pendles next week. $211,800 left over right now :)

Seems like you've began to slip a little after your hot start.

Fair to say the beginner's luck is drying up?

jeesh

If you want Betts then fair enough trade Salem to him but I definitely wouldn't bother with McInnes nor would I grab Glenn a week early in the off chance that any of the following scenarios take place.
Newton scores his first ton
Glenn or any of your other mids get injured this week
Glenn gets dropped next week (I'll admit this one is pretty unlikely but GAJ, Malceski and Martin might all be suddenly right to go and Bennell and the boozers will all come back in)

No, it's just my out there decisions regarding captaincy that is stuffing me up. I always had a way to talk myself out of captaining Ablett back when I last played, and this year I have been able to talk myself out of captaining Fyfe so far. Not anymore though, that mistake will be fixed up :)

I guess that is the only worry I have. I could go to Boekhorst who is on the bubble? Surely he is guaranteed more game time right? Newton is done, he won't be scoring well, not with Sydney this week and Hawthorn next week, it's over for him. Glenn is a risk yeah, but if I want to upgrade Vandenberg next week then I have to make a downgrade in the mids this week.

If ya set on a downgrade it has to be Glenn or McKenzie wouldn't touch Boekhorst
